Maintenance Handy PersonLocation: Ogunquit, METhe Colonial Inn, a seasonal 62-room hotel located on Shore Road in Ogunquit, is seeking a person that has technical problem-solving skills, works well in a fast-paced environment, works well with others, and wants to grow and be a part of a caring andoptimistic team.The Maintenance Person is responsible for the upkeep of four on-site buildings, 62 rooms, and 1/2 acre of property. This person is experienced in hotel maintenance and has knowledge in plumbing, HVAC, building, carpentry, painting, landscaping, wall repair, and general preventative maintenance. This individual has 5+ years in this field of work, enjoys working with others and alone, is flexible, can learn new things, is self-motivated, and has effective time management skills.The Maintenance Handy Person is also expected to be on call, work weekends, and work longer shifts as needed. This position is well suited for individuals that are highly motivated, skilled in all areas of a hotel's maintenance operation, and want to make an impact on the hotel industry in Ogunquit.Role and ResponsibilitiesMaintenance Worker Responsibilities: Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment.Performing preventative maintenance.Handling repairs and maintenance.Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary.Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them.Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.Inspecting rooms for mechanical issues before guests check in.Cleaning out air filters and PTAC units.Repairing and plastering walls.Painting indoor and outdoor spaces.Working with housekeeping to resolve room issues.Performing the cleaning and maintenance of the pool.Painting, building, and fixing of the property as needed.Weeding, light landscaping, trimming, and dead-heading of flowers and plants. Maintenance Worker Requirements: Proven maintenance experience, 5 years or more preferred.High school diploma or general education degree (GED).Related degree from a technical college.Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.Experience performing routine maintenance.Strong organizational and follow-up skills.Eye for detail.Professional presentation and attitude.Ability to maintain focus while working individually.Strong time management skills.Positive attitude and willingness to help guests and staff.
