Covia is looking for a dynamic Maintenance person who will have a positive impact on the operations team at its Emmett, ID location.The Maintenance position is accountable to ensure the safe and productive operation of the plant and must possess aptitude for multiple disciplines and be proficient in the maintenance of equipment associated with all functional areas within the plant. The successful candidate will have the following Key Accountabilities:
- Replacing, repairing, rebuilding and performing preventative maintenance and inspections on a variety of industrial equipment.
- Filling in for other positions as needed.
- The Maintenance operator works a varied schedule and is on call during non-scheduled times for response to emergencies and other special needs as they arise.
- Other duties as assigned.
The successful incumbent will have the following Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Possess good mechanical knowledge, welding & fabrication ability, etc.
- Experience operating forklift and front-end loader.
- Must have basic knowledge of machinery and equipment.
- Must be able to lift 50 - 100 pounds.
- Ability to adapt to changing situations, a flexible schedule, and other duties as required.
- Basic reading and writing skills.
- Ability to learn basic electrical skills.
- Ability to learn precision measuring methods.
- Previous experience in a maintenance role (at least two years).
