Job Type Full-time Description Verland is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance of company homes and buildings. Duties include, but are not limited to, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, concrete work and roofing. Must use own tools and vechical. Milage is paid every month. Contributions:
- Repair roof, gutters and downspouts
- Repair, replace or install electrical outlets, switches, light fixtures, fuses, etc.
- Replace glass in doors and windows
- Monthly furnace inspections
- Repair leaking water lines, faucets and toilets.
- Make minor repairs of walls, sidewalks, chimneys, etc.
- Drywall repair and painting
- Install and repair stoves, refrigeration, hot water heaters and other home appliances
- Repair floors, doors, windows and furniture
- Perform a wide variety of other semi-skilled building maintenance tasks.
- Perform other duties as may be appropriately assigned.
- Must work effectively and relate well with others, including all levels of management
- Exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others and works to maintain constructive working relationships.
Requirements
- Good knowledge of the common maintenance practices, tools, terminology and accident precautions of one or more trades.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize jobs
- Ability to follow rough sketches and oral instructions.
- Ability to coordinate building maintenance jobs
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks in an efficient, organized fashion.
- Ability to communicate with people from a broad range of social and economic backgrounds
- Ability to use and operate all tools and equipment efficiently
- Ability to operate ordinary office equipment (fax, multi-function telephone system, etc.)
- Hard working, well organized, energetic, highly motivated, creative and personable.
- Must have basic literacy skills.
- Must have all required clearances and maintain a valid Driver's License.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:
- High school diploma or equivalent required and two years of work experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, general maintenance or drywall work required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires sitting, standing, walking, driving, seeing, hearing, speaking and writing, stooping, twisting, climbing, manual dexterity and lifting up to 50 pounds independently.
