Duties & Responsibilities
- Setup, operate and maintain various machine tools including but not limited to lathes, milling machines, grinders and drill presses to fabricate and repair precision parts and tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings and schematics to determine machining operations required.
- Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Measures, examines, and tests completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications.
- Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facility.
- Install machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Repair fork trucks.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Handles complex issues and problems while performing under minimal supervision.
- Other duties as required.
Supervisory Responsibility
Materials and Equipment Directly Used
- Standard office equipment including computer, mouse, keyboard, telephone, multifunction copier
- Personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toed safety shoes.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications
- Possess math skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Must be able to read micrometers, calipers, dial indicators and tape measure.
- Must be able to use assorted hand tools, power tools, welders, cutting torch, lathes, milling machines, grinders and drill presses.
- Knowledge of various materials and their properties to be able to suggest and apply different materials as needed.
- Must be able to stand/walk on concrete floors 10-12hrs.
- Must be able to push/pull and lift up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions of high and low temperatures.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Three-to-five years' experience as a machinist/mechanic in a manufacturing environment or similar field.
Additional Information
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- An applicant must complete a satisfactory background check post-offer of employment. A criminal conviction will not be an automatic bar to employment.
- Must be willing and able to pass a post-offer drug screen and physical (if required)
