- We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Manager to lead all facility maintenance operations. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing and overseeing preventive maintenance programs, managing major equipment projects, and ensuring the facility is maintained for optimal efficiency and cost-effectiveness. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage budgets, and ensure strict adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards (including OSHA, FDA, and GMP requirements).
Job Duties:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program to minimize equipment downtime and associated costs.
- Plan and execute major equipment overhauls, ensuring long-term reliability and maintainability.
- Manage emergency situations effectively while maintaining the preventive maintenance program to minimize future emergencies.
- Implement and maintain efficient work order systems, including backlog control and job assignment processes.
- Ensure strict compliance with quality assurance standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety regulations, and other company procedures.
- Develop, revise, and enforce standard operating procedures and ensure adherence by all maintenance personnel.
- Oversee the training of plant employees on proper and safe equipment operation.
- Manage building maintenance, including interior structural maintenance, demolition, and physical changes.
- Source and oversee the installation of new machinery and equipment.
- Manage and oversee the work of external contractors and service providers.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to good housekeeping practices.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations (e.g., OSHA, FDA, environmental regulations).
- Assist with inspections and audits conducted by regulatory bodies (e.g., FDA, BRC, Kosher/Organic certification organizations).
- Manage maintenance activities within budgetary constraints.
- Actively participate in the management team and contribute to overall operational success.
- Maintain a safe and compliant work environment and report any safety hazards or suspicious activity immediately.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (or Associate's degree) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a food processing setting.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ideally familiar with CAD software and preventative maintenance software.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and regulations.
