Job Description:
This hands-on position provides leadership and direction to the manufacturing maintenance department and maintenance employees. Responsible for daily activities, continuous improvement programs, capital projects for Production/Maintenance/Facility, the installation of machines and equipment, repair and diagnostic analysis of equipment, preventive maintenance, and general upkeep of the facility. Research, plan, and design mechanical and electromechanical products and systems. Coordinates activities involved in the fabrication, operation, application, and installation of mechanical or electromechanical products and systems. What you'll do: This position is responsible for the management of a variety of diverse activities associated with Production Equipment Maintenance. Supervises work groups and/or units engaged in activities associated with production equipment machinery. Establishes Preventative Maintenance (PM) instructions, (PM) schedules and employee equipment assignments. Ensures compliance with contract specifications, On time PM completions, Equipment Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) goals, and Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) files. Participates in the department's strategic planning process and ensures appropriate skills are available when needed. Develops and maintains relationships with other support organizations to keep abreast of developments in allied fields. Interprets, recommends, and executes continuous improvement projects to meet productivity goals and corporate initiatives. Establishes and maintains quality systems and instills Paris values and ethics. Hires employees, manages dismissals and conducts performance evaluations. Plans and approves salary increases. Manages discipline and documentation steps in problem employee situations. Establishes department and individual performance goals. Reviews employee's performance against these goals. Champions, coaches, and motivates team members. Develops and trains subordinates. Provide technical direction/expertise to staff. Assists with the development and implementation of department/company initiatives. Develops long-range strategic plans. Resolves unique problems that are complex in nature. Problems extend across multiple disciplines or functions. Provides significant customer influence on operational/technical issues. Frequent customer interaction. Performs all other duties as assigned. Your Background: Bachelor's Degree in engineering, administration, production management, or equivalent work experience. Skills required for this job are typically acquired by completing an undergraduate degree. degree and 6+ years of experience or equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree. Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. Ability to be hands-on in the repair of production equipment and support systems. Experience in planning maintenance operations. Familiarity with drafting and understanding blueprints and schematics. Minimum experience of 3 years in a supervisory role. Leadership skills in the direction of significant production equipment management and maintenance experience. Ability to counsel, coach, develop and motivate staff of technical /professionals. Team building and facilitation skills. Excellent communication/presentation skills.
