Who we are looking for:

Atkore, a recipient of a Great Place to Work certification and a Top Workplaces USA award, is currently searching for a Maintenance Manager in Hobart, Indiana. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this person will be responsible for managing and directing the day-to-day activities of the Maintenance Department, including Maintenance Supervisors, Mechanics, and Electricians in a growing 24x7 operation.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of seven (7) years of related experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment with a minimum of BA/BS in Business Management or Engineering (BSEE, BSME, BSCE) preferred. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is required.

What you'll do:

  • Responsible for plant preventative maintenance programs, department labor, repairs, and maintenance budgets
  • Responsible to provide direct reports with the required Engagement and Alignment monthly reviews, mid-year, and year end reviews, including forward goal setting
  • Manage annual reviews, outside vendor contracts, coordinating all equipment installations and other capital projects
  • Develop, document, and implement cost savings utilizing lean methodologies
  • Develop and schedule maintenance training, including electrical, mechanical, and preventive on all production equipment and process equipment
  • Coordinate with and implement maintenance programs with the various departments within the facility
  • Participate in inter-department lean methodology initiatives

What you'll bring:

  • (7) years of related experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment; BA/BS in Business Management or Engineering (BSEE, BSME, BSCE) preferred
  • Experience in developing cross-functional teams
  • Proficient in MS systems, including MS Teams

Within 3 months, you'll:

  • Complete your Atkore Immersion Program
  • Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy.
  • Gain an understanding of your team.
  • Gain an understanding of the training materials and procedures your team owns.

Within 6 months, you'll:

  • Ensure your team understands their role and identify opportunities within the department to improve
  • Utilize the Atkore Business System for alignment and continuous improvement

Within 12 months, you'll:

  • Develop, coordinate, and/or conduct job-specific process improvements to ensure all maintenance personnel are trained on their job functions.
  • Work closely with Operations Leadership, Manufacturing Supervisors, Maintenance Supervisors, and Engineering to ensure processes are accurate, documented, and changes are made and communicated.
  • Implement changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase manufacturing efficiencies.
