The Maintenance Manager is responsible for managing all maintenance functions required to keep the facilities and equipment fully operational. The Maintenance Manager will supervise a team of 4 maintenance employees including scheduling, training, discipline and performance reviews. Troubleshoot, diagnose, evaluate and repair: electrical, complex hydraulic, pneumatic, combustion and mechanical systems across the plant. Develop procedures and follow the necessary sequence of operations necessary to implement.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise the plants maintenance team
  • Schedule the department's workload, prioritizing as needed to support production needs
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of the company's combustion controls and equipment
  • When necessary, prepare working sketches, bills of materials and requisitions
  • Experienced in precision alignment
  • Provide technical assistance, training and mentoring to the maintenance and plant services teams
  • Oversee the maintenance department, parts storage and tool area(s) maintaining a clean, orderly work area and ensure performance of assignments in a timely and safe manner
  • Maintain an effective preventive maintenance program covering all areas of need ensuring that all PM requirements are completed as scheduled
  • Establish and maintain a maintenance management system and culture to dive improvement in equipment reliability and uptime
  • Participate in and support in the company's CI and 6S program
  • Participate in the company's capital improvement and repair planning process
  • Participate in the selection, scheduling and support of contractors for major projects across the plant
  • Support EHS efforts for safety and compliance
  • Attend training if needed to learn additional skills as required by manufacturing process changes
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of PLC Controls
  • Attend meetings as required
  • Recommends employees for advancement
  • Responsible for the team's disciplinary action
  • Operate to within the departments operating budget
  • Responsible for reporting departmental KPIs and planning corrections when needed
  • Ensure that the department's staff promote and maintain positive employee relations, work to within the provisions of the labor agreement and follow all company policy, procedure and work rules
  • Participate in the grievance procedure as is applicable per the labor agreement
  • Perform other duties as directed, commensurate with the skills of the employee and Company needs

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a supervisory role
  • Experience with forging equipment including presses and furnaces highly preferred
  • Knowledge in areas of machine shop practice, welding procedures, hydraulics, pneumatics, basic electricity and mobile equipment repair required
  • Knowledge and ability to design and modify equipment highly preferred
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints, electrical schematics and architectural drawings
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering, technical or business discipline is a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal skills and the ability to interpret and present technical data required
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to safely lift 50 lbs. unaided
  • Must be able to spend up to 100% of the workday standing, walking, bending
  • Must be able to successfully pass vision and hearing tests with or without aide
  • Must be able and willing to safely work in enclosed spaces
  • Must be able and willing to safely work at height and climb ladders
  • Must be able to spend up to 100% of the day in full sunlight and occasionally wet weather
