Job Description:
Overview: As the Maintenance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of machinery and equipment in a food manufacturing facility. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will lead the maintenance department, focusing on preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime while upholding product quality and safety standards.Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership & Management: Oversee all maintenance activities, including preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting of machinery, equipment, and facilities, to ensure uninterrupted operations and minimize production delays.
  • Maintenance Strategy: Develop and implement strategies, plans, and schedules to optimize equipment reliability and performance while reducing operational costs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with production, engineering, and other departments to prioritize and schedule maintenance activities, minimizing disruption to production.
  • Team Management: Hire, train, and manage maintenance technicians and staff, fostering a skilled and motivated workforce aligned with maintenance objectives.
  • Safety Compliance: Establish and enforce safety protocols, ensuring a safe work environment in line with OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Budget Management: Develop and monitor maintenance budgets, control expenses, and manage spare parts inventory to support cost-effective operations.
  • Technology Utilization: Implement and maintain computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to track work orders, equipment history, and performance metrics.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor equipment performance, analyze maintenance data, and identify opportunities to enhance reliability, efficiency, and processes.
  • Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and contractors, negotiating contracts and procuring parts, equipment, and services.
  • Industry Expertise: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and advancements in maintenance and reliability engineering, recommending and implementing innovative solutions.
Qualifications:
  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 4 years of progressive leadership experience in maintenance management within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of maintenance principles, including preventive maintenance, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), and predictive maintenance technologies.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams, inspiring excellence in maintenance practices.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction across all organizational levels and with external stakeholders.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in CMMS, enterprise asset management (EAM) software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Analytical Abilities: Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with food safety regulations, GMP, and HACCP principles.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to evolving business needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications: Certification in maintenance management, reliability engineering, or related fields (e.g., Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional, Certified Plant Maintenance Manager) is a plus.
