Pacific International has been retained by a global packaging solutions manufacturer that is in the process of launching a brand-new plant in Florida. This position will play a vital role setting up all Maintenance and Reliability programs from the ground up.
Despite already being a market leader, the company is experiencing significant growth and building this plant to service new markets. The Maintenance Manager will be owner of the maintenance strategy and will drive long-term reliability improvements through autonomous maintenance and teamwork between maintenance and operations.
Responsibilities:
- Provides leadership to team which includes following Performance Management System, setting expectations that align to areas business objectives and providing routine feedback on performance.
- Monitors team performance and audit activities to ensure personnel are performing quality work, supporting a quality product and providing service to meet all the organizations goals.
- Manages the PDCA process from cradle to grave to include problem statement, root cause analysis, and counter measure implementation.
- Works with area improvement teams to identify, evaluate, and implement reliable improvement opportunities through changes to operating procedures, maintenance procedures, and equipment upgrades.
- Develops, posts, and communicates procedures/processes for their area that support the Site Plant Maintenance Strategies.
- Owns their area's development programs which includes training, education, and hands-on experience.
- Directs the METs, TMLs and TMS and provides expertise (training, standards, SPLs).
- Ensures that work is accomplished accurately and safely by METs, TMLs and TMSs (regular audits need to be performed by the Technical Manager).
- Develop proactive maintenance opportunities.
- Owns and updates KPIs related to their MPG and drives behavior to improve performance. Ownership for standard documentation (PLC program, Drive program, HMI, equipment drawing, FMEAs).
- Responsible for maintenance financials.
- Responsible for maintenance safety.
- Responsible for work place organization (WPO).
- Manages the MOC, HSP and PSM process from a maintenance perspective.
- Applies basic functions of SAP to all aspects of Asset Management.
- Benchmarks sister plants regularly.
- Sets stores inventory classifications and stocking levels.
- Encourage utilities cost reduction in the area (shutting off machine when not in use, turning of lamps...).
- Provides reliability support, technology expertise, and best practices for design reviews, construction, operability, maintainability, and standards.
- Be a key part in Training and developing new Maintenance Technicians.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Four-year degree required.
- Engineering degree preferred.
- 3-4 years of manufacturing experience.
- Demonstrates safety commitment.
- Positive interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Process and Instrumentation diagrams, electrical schematics, mechanical layout and design.
- Positive work history with an ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Computer aptitude, to include proficiency in MS Office, to include Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project Management.
- AutoCAD knowledge preferred.
- SAP PM Experience preferred.
- Willing to travel 25%
