DescriptionThe Maintenance Materials Assistant has the primary responsibility for assisting the MRO Procurement team in all stock room functions, helping maintain inventory accuracy and preparing assets/parts for shipment purposes. Work Hours: 7am - 3pm, Monday through FridayResponsibilities:Practices high level of service to both the MRO Procurement team and the plant Maintenance team to achieve company goals.Participates in receiving activities (collecting inbound packages / freight from receiving dock, opening packages, verifying paperwork against actual deliveries, noting discrepancies, etc.).Assists with physical labeling of received items, updating inventory records, and storage locations.Process work orders as dictated for outbound shipments: repair, returns, stock transfers.Maintains organization (5S) of the stock room and other maintenance storage areas to optimize utilization of space.Participates in cycle counting program as needed.Helps enforce storeroom policies and procedures. Materials Assistants in satellite locations may perform additional duties to support coordination of purchasing activities with the local Maintenance Manager and Corporate MRO Purchasing in Winona which may include parts identification and documentation, local supplier searches, obtaining local quotations, tracking, etc. Other duties/responsibilities as assigned, or apparent.RequirementsSkills and Abilities Must demonstrate Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word). Must have effective interpersonal and customer skills. Must be efficiency-minded, well organized, detail-oriented, and disciplined. Must demonstrate proficiency on the use of the computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Must have a current RTP issued forklift license or be willing to take the test upon acceptance of position. Must be able to pass a forklift, boom lift, scissor lift, a respirator fit test. Attendance is an essential function of the job. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED preferred or an equivalent amount of experience. Prior experience with RTP production or maintenance department preferred but not required.Physical Requirements and Working ConditionsRegularly Communicates via phone, email, in person.Required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, climb, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, and controls.Operates a computer and other office equipment such as a copy machine and printer. Frequently Talk and hear to coordinate day-to-day phone and in person transactions.OccasionallyRequired to sit, perform keyboard work, for prolonged periods of time.Lift and/or move up to 60 pounds and handle, with mechanical assistance, up to 75 pounds.Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, dust, fumes, airborne particles, chemical dust, hot and cold weather conditions.Exposed to moving mechanical parts.Exposed to hazardous materials as defined by the OSHA Hazard Communication standard.Standard manufacturing and office environment. The noise level is usually low, due to office equipment, and moderate to high when in the manufacturing environment, due to equipment and machinery.Proper personal safety equipment is to be used as required by plant safety procedures.
