Job Description:
The Maintenance Mechanic 2 performs maintenance service and repairs in many areas, such as general electrical repairs and nurse call repairs. Is knowledgeable in the procedures and safety measures in area(s) of specialty. The position relies on guidelines and some experience and judgment to completejob and works under general supervision.#CB* Preventative Maintenance & Repair* Inspects equipment for proper operation and working condition and maintain routine records and determine type and extent of malfunction of equipment and be able to produce the history of equipment log at any given time.* Makes building rounds to assure proper operation and make necessary adjustments to assure building temperature and pressures.* Service and make repairs to heating, air conditioning and refrigeration equipment including fans, motors, thermostats, dampers and regulating controls, replaces filters and fluids as necessary.* General plumbing maintenance such as repair and make alterations to steam, gas, water, air and sanitary plumbing pipes and fixtures. Repair and replace valves, repair leaks and clear drain stoppers.* Manual duties such as moving supplies, furniture, equipment, removing trash, scrap material, replacing tools and supplies and replacing light bulbs.* Schedules moving of supplies, furniture equipment so as not to interrupt scheduled events.* Productivity* Identify problems and repair or replace in 24 hours.* Ensure P.M. program is in place to eliminate unscheduled downtime.* Evaluate and prioritize unscheduled requests against scheduled requests. Using helpers in a wise and productive way.* Complete unscheduled requests within 45 days of receipt* Maintain proper placement of tools, trash, and scrap material immediately after completion of project. Paint assignment completed neatly in a timely manner.* Ensure no patient discomforts by down time of essential equipment.* Utilizes time to accomplish work in an efficient manner.* Operates equipment and performs job-related duties in a safe manner.* Other Duties as Assigned* Performs other duties as assigned* Adheres to hospital policy on the usage of Paid Time Off and Extended Illness Time.* Maintains a professional appearance, according to job requirements, at all times.* Attended all required mandatory educational sessions.* Responds appropriately to fire, safety and disaster situations.* Utilizes Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the appropriate manner for optimal personal protection.* Assumes personal responsibility for ongoing continuing education and professional development.* Teamwork* When requested, adjusts personal schedule to meet department/unit needs.* Reports to work on time, and if necessary, reports tardiness to appropriate person.* Employee shall conform to regulatory, customer and organizational requirements.Experience - 3 years of experience in the field or in a related areaEducation - High School Diploma or Equivalent
