Job Title: Maintenance MechanicDepartment: OperationsPosition Overview: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, overhauling and repairing stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure safety policies, housekeeping rules and guidelines, quality standards, and standard operating procedures are followed
  • Interpret blueprints and schematics when working on machines
  • Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment
  • Ability to detect, isolate and identify irregularities and malfunctions in machinery and equipment
  • Ability to Troubleshoot PLC's
  • Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, hydraulic, pneumatic and vacuum systems
  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
  • Operate machine tools such as welders, lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work on machinery
  • Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance
  • Complete all paperwork as required
  • Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 5 years' mechanical and equipment experience in an industrial environment
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation
  • Experience in moving, assembling, disassembling, troubleshooting and repairing various types of machinery and equipment
  • Able to weld and fabricate new parts to replace defective parts during machine setup, maintenance or overhaul
  • Thorough knowledge of load bearing capabilities of the equipment to be installed, assembled or dismembered
  • Demonstrated aptitude in reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals and specifications
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Overtime may be required
  • Travel may be required
