Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
This list is not all encompassing and other duties may be assigned.
Works safely and applies safe practices at all times Use proper safety devices in a correct manner, and utilize safety techniques when working in and around equipment and/or working in non-production areas Accurately diagnose and solve mechanical problems as they arise Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic and hydraulic systems Troubleshoot and repair pumps Weld a variety of different materials using various types of welding equipment Assemble, troubleshoot, and repair all equipment Use and accurately read precision measuring equipment Perform preventative maintenance tasks as directed Accurately complete all work order and record/document work performed Work/coordinate with and through others to accomplish required tasks Layout a Bill of Material for any job Immediately respond to situations as they arise within the facility Install tooling accurately and completely Apply knowledge to improve the mechanical procedures within set standards Adhere to and complies too all General Manufacturing Practices (GMP's).

Education and /or Experience
High School graduate or GED equivalent.
Previous experience as a mechanic in an industrial environment is required.
Possess a valid State of Michigan drivers license.
Have, or able to obtain, forklift license.
Previous fork lift and scissor lift driving experience helpful.
Communication/Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents including, but not limited to, safety rules, policies, procedures, quality specifications, and written reports or correspondence.
Ability to read and understand equipment diagrams, manuals and specifications.
Ability to write routine reports, record data, and generate correspondence.
Ability to communicate effectively with others inside, and outside, the Maintenance Department.
Ability to use a computer and utilize standardized software programs.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide to calculate figures and amounts for proportions, area, circumference and volume.
Ability to work with, and understand, standard and metric measurements.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in a standardized situation.

While performing the duties of this job the employee must be able to:
* stand in a designated area for long periods of time.
* lift 30 pounds on a regular basis with no assistance and heavier weights with assistance.
* occasionally lift 30 pounds above shoulder height.
* stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, squat, and crouch.
* reach above, at, below, and to the side, while twisting body and twisting at waist.
* climb stairs and ladders on a regular basis.
* pull non-powered pallet jacks while loaded with up to 1000 lbs of material.
* work on platforms at various heights.
* grip small pieces/parts.
* twist hands at wrist while gripping and/or carrying items
* work in elevated positions of over 25 feet
Employee must have vision abilities required by this job which include:
* close vision - peripheral vision
* distance vision - depth perception
* color vision - ability to adjust focus
Employee must have sufficient hearing to be aware of sirens and horns which alert people to danger.
While performing this job, the employee must wear PPE, follow GMP's, be trained in knife safety.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job the employee will work in an environment with:
* above normal heat conditions - flashing lights
* noise levels exceeding 90 decibels - sirens and horns
* powered moving equipment passing nearby - light dust in the air
* moving mechanical parts - hazardous chemicals
The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
Hazardous chemicals are used to clean the equipment/tooling, to lubricate equipment,
and as a required substance for an operating system such as a hydraulic system.
Employee will occasionally work outside in snow or rain.
Employee will occasionally work in cramped areas and/or confined spaces.
Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Employee must be able to work various hours and various shifts which may include overtime. The facility is a 24/7 operation which includes weekdays and weekends. Maintaining good attendance is required.
