As an Industrial Mechanic you will need to have a thorough understanding of mechanical engineering principles to help install, troubleshoot, and service the mechanical equipment in the mill.Knowledge of mechanical power transmission components such as couplings, bearings, and gearing, as well as any experience with industrial hydraulic systems, drive shafts, pumps, conveyor systems and air compressors that you have learned in the military will be important skills for this position. Any welding experience would also be a bonus.If you have experience troubleshooting and repairing various engine types, AC/DC drives or knowledge or aptitude to learn electrical, hydraulic, or other mechanical systems should help you learn this position.They will have an outlined training program in place, starting with a safety training program, as safety is something they take very seriously at Nucor, most training will be on-the-job. Gears, bearings, hydraulics and welding experience are important skills that you will need.This client is looking for people who are independent thinkers, with well-developed leadership skills that they can see as future leaders, and a collaborative, team orientated mindset. The DuPont 12-hour rotating shift schedule uses 4 teams (crews) and 2 twelve-hour shifts to provide 24/7 coverage. It consists of a 4-week cycle where each team works 4 consecutive night shifts, followed by 3 days off duty, works 3 consecutive day shifts, followed by 1 day off duty, works 3 consecutive night shifts, followed by 3 days off duty, work 4 consecutive day shift, then have 7 consecutive days off duty.Personnel at this facility work an average 42 hours per week.Base + Production bonus.
