Location Description The Meadville, Pennsylvania facility is 135,000 square feet and home to about 290 hard working team members who are proud to produce iconic pet food brands like Rachael Ray Nutrish. Located along the banks of French Creek in Northwestern Pennsylvania and 45 minutes from Pittsburgh, Meadville is home to more than 13,000 full time residents and 2,000 Allegheny College students. Meadville is an active center for business, industry, education, the arts, recreation, service and tourism. Conneaut Lake, Pymatuning State Park and the Erie National Wildlife Refuge are wonderful places to appreciate the area's natural beauty. Responsibilities PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES and ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all plant equipment Troubleshoots machines or equipment, replaces defective parts, orders parts not in stock, and adjusts equipment as necessary Diagnoses unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunctions and discusses machine operation variations with operators and other maintenance workers to correct problem or repair machine Performs mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and replaces parts as needed to existing systems Reads and interprets blueprints, program listings, schematics and mechanical and wiring diagrams Proactive in detecting and correcting machine performance problems Performs all preventative and scheduled maintenance as assigned Ensures that all safety devices are installed and operational Cleans and lubricates machine parts as required. Inspect and tests machinery and equipment as required. Installs equipment and completes work orders as assigned Prep the job by collecting all required tools and parts prior to shut down of equipment Work with Operations to plan start and stop of downtime in production Ensures that work is completed according to schedule Follow all lock out/tag out procedures Contacts appropriate person when questions arise Ensures that all Safety guidelines and procedures are followed Ensures that all SOPs are being followed Informs A-lead and Food Safety of any food safety concerns Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures and job instructions Follow all GMPs Accesses needed parts and tracks what is used according to established methods Communicate with team members to convey status, bring up concerns, or point out roadblocks to getting the equipment back into production Qualifications JOB- RELATED COMPETENCIES (Abilities required of this position) Computer literate - navigate Windows, perform data entry 3 years' experience in troubleshooting and repairing equipment and working with HMI and PLC systems in a production facility. Verbal and Math Skills Know when to ask for help Ability to work with little or no supervision Time management skills - develop and adhere to a schedule Trouble shooting skills Electrical - Basic trouble-shooting skills using a meter and print Mechanical - Basic trouble-shooting skills with bearings, actuators, gearboxes, etc. PLCs- Able to call up screen and understand the logic Basic Skills Attention to detail (specifications) Able to work a flexible work schedule and be on call as assigned Willing to work weekends Able to drive Fork-Truck Have own hand tools Able to use air tools Able to read blueprints and wiring diagrams Mechanical/Electrical maintenance skills Understands conveyance systems - Screw, air, vibratory and bucket elevators Understands Safety, LOTO, and GMPS as they relate to maintenance General Welding Skills Understands and calculates measurements (fractions and decimals) Understands the manufacturing process and how their responsibilities relate to its proper functioning Able to perform boiler and steam safety and maintenance Able to perform basic plumbing skills PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Necessary to perform essential functions of job with or without an accommodation) Climb ladders and bins Maneuver in tight spaces Move items of 55-80 lbs. in weight from one place to another Stack repetitiously 60 lbs. or less Able to differentiate between colors Able to work in extreme temperature conditions (very hot or very cold) Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time
