Primary purpose:Troubleshoot, repair, maintain and calibrate equipment such as pumps and motors, and manifold control valves, turbine and positive displacement meters, proving equipment, tank gauging equipment, pressure and temperature gauges and equipment. Candidates must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skill through experience and/or training. Essential duties and responsibilities:Should be able to perform maintenance ranging from basic level services (filter changes), to 2 - level maintenanceEquipment expertise should include: experience with pumps, motors, controls, and other related equipment.In-shop and field repair services for, facility equipmentSupport all terminal projects and works with other terminals personnel when the need arisesAssists with corporate engineering projects as requested including preoperational testing, start up and commissioningWorks with vendors and their technicians on new and repaired upgrade equipmentProperly and accurately complete job, start-up & service to assigned work in accordance with company policyEffectively communicate with operations, maintenance, and managementDevelop and maintain positive attitude with other departmentsKeep an organized, clean & resourceful work environment to include the office, shop, work area, warehouse, and service vehiclesUnderstand and adhere to all safety related policies, rules, and guidelinesConsistently provide courteous and professional representationComplete all necessary regulatory & company mandated inspections in accordance with regulatory and company policiesPerforms other related duties as assigned
Minimum requirements: Education:High school diploma or equivalent, Experience / specific knowledge:Able to read and understand electrical schematics, ladder diagrams and mechanical drawingsGood communication skills,Self motivated and assertive styleA satisfactory driving record as determined by the company and a current valid state drivers license are mandatoryExperience with installation, maintenance and repair of refined petroleum product systems and equipment for terminal operationsKnowledge of occupational hazards and required safety precautions, including those related to calibration and maintenance records, safety inspections and reports Certifications, licenses, registrations:None Competencies, skills, and abilities:Well balanced interpersonal skillsAbility to effectively interact professionally with management, co-workers, vendors, contractors and agency personnelMust be able to take direction from supervisors, keep required work schedules, focus attention to details, adhere to operational procedures and follow work and safety rulesBasic computer skills in Microsoft applicationsMust be self motivated and capable of making decisions while working with minimal supervisionPass a hands on maintenance test (Welding, electrical, pipefitting , and mechanical) Physical demands:Must be able to lift up to 50 to 60 lbsAbility to walk up and down stairs/ladders Working conditions:Job entails call-outs on a 24 hour basis and an ability to work long hours, weekends, nights and holidays, when requiredOccasional overnight travel requiredPerform physical labor in a variety of extreme climatic conditions including walking, bending, stooping, climbing tanks, digging, lifting and general manual laborExposure to smells and vapors associated with petroleum productsSubject to background check and mandatory drug screen/on-going random testing Supervisory responsibility:None Preferred education, experience, certifications, competencies, skills, and abilities:Above the minimum requirements; not required but advantageous in this position:Technician school degree or equivalent experienceExperience working with construction contractorsBasic knowledge of cathodic protection Other responsibilities:Other duties as assigned
