We specialize in both small and large molecule development and commercial drug substance services. This allows us to serve the needs of Small/Emerging, Mid-Sized, and Large Pharma sectors globally.Work Schedule: 2nd shift Maintenance Technicians works 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm (10% Shift differential)Group / Division: Facilities / EngineeringWhat will you do?Supply improvement ideas and suggestions to help continue the success of the plant. Associates will operate, maintain, and calibrate standards and lab equipment. Perform calibrations in a clean room environment. Additionally, assist facilities in accurately troubleshooting all production equipment associated within the department to prevent and/or correct mechanical & electrical breakdowns following strict product safety & cGMP regulations. Associates must have the ability & initiative to lead & participate in plant problem-solving teams, communicate effectively, demonstrate leadership & plan efficiently. Associates will work in a fast paced environment & be able to efficiently communicate. Work well in a team with limited supervision, and be available to work any shift, weekends and holidays if needed.Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:Qualified applicants will have a high school diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred.3 years calibration related experience, including on-the-job experienceBackground in industrial, mechanical, and computer systemsMust be able to work from blueprints or verbal instructions to calibrate system componentsMust be able to start up systems, test lines to detect leaks, and record the readings taken to ensure that the system is functioning satisfactorily.Must be able to troubleshoot equipment and calibrate all gas-related controlsMust have knowledge of & capable of performing special technical skill (basic electrical troubleshooting, basic PLC skills, and gases)Should have a working knowledge of electrical installation & construction, hydraulics & pneumatics systemsMust be able to move up to 50 lbs.Must have knowledge of or be willing and able to train in Maintenance Systems (SAP), computer skills, lubricants & lubricating systems, & new technologies in predictive maintenanceSupport high performance culture and continuous improvement programs through active participation in plant productivity programsComply and actively participate in all safety and environmental policies, procedures and programs.Perform area housekeeping dutiesPerform all tasks as assigned by supervisorAbility to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business communityOther Job Requirements:Adhere to OHS policies and procedures and ensure a safe and healthy workplace environmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee must be aware of potential exposure to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; and high noise areas.Must be able to move up to 50 lbs.Work in all types of environments all seasons associated with jobIndoor/outdoor, physical environmentAny shift(s) and overtime requirements as needed.Must be available for shift work & weekend workThermo Fisher Scientific is an EEO/Affirmative Action Employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, disability or any other legally protected status.We offer competitive remuneration, annual incentive plan bonus, healthcare, and a range of employee benefits.
