SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONSPerform basic troubleshooting, lubricate machinery, change parts, or perform other routine machinery maintenanceESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAssist Millwright in daily dutiesPerform preventive maintenance as scheduledClean machines and machine parts, using cleaning solvents, cloths, air guns, hoses, vacuums, or other equipmentDismantle machines and remove parts for repair, using hand tools, chain falls, jacks, cranes, or hoists Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments, according to production specificationsCollaborate with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipmentLubricate or apply adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified proceduresParticipate in action planning processTrack/record time and all repair parts using work orders & maintenance management systemAssist operators making sure workstations and surrounding areas are clean and free of debrisAll other duties assigned by supervisorSKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSPrevious management experience or equivalent educationUnderstanding of correct lumber manufacturing processesAbility to analyze data to determine performance trendsProblem solving skillsComputer literateWorking knowledge of planer/sawmill/yard machinery and tools; including their design, uses, repair and maintenanceAbility to clearly & effectively communicate issues to peers, subordinates & senior managementAbility to lead and work well with other supervisors & operatorsWork well both independently and as part of a teamAbility to train others on operation and repair of equipmentAbility to monitor/assess performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective actionAbility to effectively manage one's own time and the time of othersAbility to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to determine causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about itSAFETYFollow all area/machine center specific safety regulationsWear all required personal protective equipment: hardhat, hearing protection, etc....Do not enter restricted areasImmediately remedy unsafe conditions, investigate, take appropriate actions/next steps and report to Human Resources/Safety ManagerReport immediately any piece of equipment that is unsafe or functioning improperly to eliminate unsafe conditionsRequest assistance when a task exceeds individual knowledgeVisually inspect equipment and area before starting/operatingUse Standard Lockout Procedures when appropriate for machine centersUse proper lifting technique by pushing, pulling and lifting with your legs and not your backNever approach a saw while it is still running Follow all other safety regulations as set forth by the companyCOMPANY BENEFITSWe offer outstanding benefits that includesCompany Paid Health InsurancePrescription Drug InsuranceDental and Vison InsuranceTelemedicine Program through TeladocWellness IncentivesPaid Time Off7 Paid Holidays Term Life Insurance, Accidental Death Insurance, Critical Care InsuranceEmployee Assistance Program Strive Rewards Program Employee Referral Program Safety Incentives Uniform Rental Boot Loans
