Responsibilities: Services, repairs and supplies preventive maintenance to all plumbing fixtures, related flush valves, mixing valves, faucets, water supply pipes, fittings, drain lines and traps; Installs plumbing fixtures, water supply lines and sewer lines; Maintains and repairs independent hot water systems; Clears and repairs roof drains; Oils and services all hot water heating system circulators; Maintains and repairs all pool related equipment. Inspects the operation of furnaces, boilers and air conditioning units and makes adjustments and minor repairs; May inspect septic tanks and order plumbing supplies; May perform general grounds keeping and building maintenance duties.

Requirements:

Experience Required: Three (3) years of paid work experience as a plumber.

Experience Preferred: Good knowledge of the standard practices, processes, materials and accident precautions of the plumbing and pipe - fitting trades; good knowledge of the practices involved in the maintenance and repair of swimming pools; good knowledge of high pressure air and water systems; ability to work from oral and written instructions; dependability, thoroughness; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position.

Other: Full-time Civil Service (Non-Competitive Labor Class) Permanent Appointment

Hours: Regular hours - Monday through Friday 8 am to 4 pm. (40 hours/week). May be required to work overtime and on various weekends.
