The Mechanical Engineer will report directly to the Reliability Manager and will be responsible for various projects within Roquette's Manufacturing Plant.This position is located in Keokuk, Iowa. What You'll Do:
  • Maintenance Reliability Engineer assigned project(s), which will improve performance in the areas of optimizing overall equipment reliability and performance
  • Will learn advanced predictive maintenance technologies and methodologies tied to the project(s) that they are assigned, such as vibration analysis, ultrasound, lubrication, infrared thermography, etc.
  • Will provide engineering studies and analysis of reliability and performance data to gain insights into potential issues and failure modes through the application of reliability-centered maintenance techniques, ensuring a proactive approach to maintenance
  • May keep historical data to analyze and monitor key parameters to assist with continuous improvement initiatives, cost savings measures, optimization of asset lifecycles, downtime reduction, and asset reliability management
What You'll Need: Education:
  • Enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in engineering (Chemical or Mechanical). Sophomore or Junior level class standing preferred
Experience:
  • No previous experience is required
  • A results-based, goal-focused mindset with a natural curiosity, demonstrated by extracurricular involvement in clubs or community
  • Leadership and/or work experience to supplement strong student achievement
Your Profile:
  • Excellent research, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment and engage with diverse stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically data analysis tools, such as Excel
  • Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work on multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively
Work Environment
  • This role spends approximately 50% of the time in an office environment and 50% of the time in the lab/plant environment
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
  • This is an hourly position, M-F. Interns are not to exceed 40 hours per week
