DESCRIPTION OF WORKIn this position, you will be working alongside our skilled electricians assigned to the Electrical Shop, maintaining 40 buildings at our facility which spans 152 acres of land. You will perform electrical and mechanical repairs to machinery and electrical distribution systems and equipment. You will be responsible for performing skilled tasks and repairs associated with building maintenance trades related to electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment repair under the supervision of the Electrical Foreman in the Maintenance Trades Section of the Facility Services Department.
Some key duties of the position include repairing and maintaining electrical equipment and lighting. In addition, you will inspect, install, repair, and maintain electrical equipment using a variety of electrical measuring and metering devices. This position requires a multi-skilled, self-motivated, and independent thinker to complete electrical assignments, as well as possess the ability to learn and utilize newly acquired skills in these trades.
