We are currently hiring a Maintenance Scheduling Analyst

What you'll do:

Act as the liaison between multiple repair facilities and various departments within TTX to coordinate and successfully execute car repair initiatives.

  • Expedite cars through shop by working cross-functionally with Fleet, Finance, Supply Chain, Maintenance Operations, Engineering, and external service providers
  • Update, maintain, and publish various metrics that measure shop performance, identify trends in car flow, and monitor the volume of work required across various TTX fleets
  • Evaluate car flow across the entire shop network and monitor shop cycle time
  • Review and approve repair cost estimates and repair class upgrade requests submitted by repair facilities
  • Identify opportunities to improve shop reporting and systems and work to implement those improvements
  • Track and act on trends that may impact shop forecasts or maintenance strategies

Qualifications:

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or equivalent
  • 3+ years related business experience
  • Expert in the Microsoft Office suite of products, primarily Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, prioritize, organize and follow through on multiple simultaneous projects
  • 10% to 20% travel required to field locations or conferences
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, perform analysis, and draw valid conclusions
  • Excellent written, visual and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to engage comfortably with leadership and third parties and remain poised
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with other departments and as a member of a team
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and data accuracy

Preferred

  • Experience using Tableau and/or Power BI data visualization tools
  • Familiar with coding languages such as SQL and Python
  • Ability to apply Lean and/or Six Sigma principles in process optimization
  • Knowledge of the rail industry, including an understanding of railroad operations and maintenance practices; mechanical aptitude is a plus

Work is frequently performed in a general office environment with moderate noise level. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and sit (remain stationary within work area) and use hands to finger, handle, feel and reach. The employee is occasionally required to move about (stand, walk) and climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Correctable vision required to allow for close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception capabilities and the ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus). The employee must occasionally lift and/or transport up to 10 pounds in the office.

Travel is occasionally required to Company locations, railroad service yards, and vendors. These locations are often situated in industrial areas that will require the use of personal protective equipment, a safety briefing, and awareness of surroundings at all times. These industrial areas may have a high volume of railroad traffic and require being ambulatory with correctable hearing and visual capabilities which includes close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus). These industrial areas can be loud, near moving mechanical parts, in high precarious places, with vibration, and exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
