Position Type: Maintenance/Custodial/Maintenance GeneralDate Posted: 6/21/2024Location: District WideTITLE: MAINTENANCE II WORKER REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS, MAINTENANCE FOREMAN JOB GOAL: PERFORMS SKILLED DUITES IN MAINTAINING BUILDINGS AND EQUIPMENT IN THE POPLAR BLUFF SCHOOL DISTRICT. PERFORMS OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED. SALARY RANGE IS BASE + 1.00 TO BASE + 2.00 DEPENDING ON SKILLS INVENTORY Performance Responsibilities:
Will adhere to all local, state and federal regulations. Will adhere to all rules and regulations set forth by the Poplar Bluff Board of Education. Will work under the supervision of the Director of Buildings and Grounds and the Maint. Foreman. Follow all E.P.A. guidelines for Building and Grounds. Be on call and work overtime as needed. Be available for training and meetings. May be required to work in all the areas listed below Carpentry Plumbing Heating and air conditioning Electricity Construction Projects General maint. and upkeep of buildings and grounds Job Duties and Responsibilities: Operate construction equipment- backhoe, tractor, skid steer. Ect. Operate heavy vehicles- dump truck, bucket truck, ect. Operate smaller equipment and vehicles- mowers, chain saws, trenchers, ect. Welding General maintenance and installation of hvac systems, change filters and clean coils. General repairs and installation of electrical system devices.- replace switches, plugs, ballast, ect. General repairs and installation of plumbing systems fixtures- faucets, drains, commodes, flush valves. ect. General repairs in carpentry - doors, ceilings, flooring, roofing, ect. General repair and installation of kitchen equipment. Unclog sewers and drains Assist technicians in other areas as needed. Perform snow and ice removal as needed Performs other duties as assigned . Essential Functions of the Job Must be able to lift, carry and load equipment and supplies that will weigh as much as 30-60 pounds, 3-10 times per day. Must be able to work safely through out all aspects of job duties. Must be able to climb and work from ladders, stepladders and step stools. Must have dexterous use of both hands so as to be able to operate power tools, hand tools and mechanical hand tools. Must also be able to drive Maintenance vehicles with standard shift, and the ability to pull a trailer behind a vehicle. Must have previous experience in the safe operation and use of tools such as drills, saws, lawn mowers, weed-eaters, hedge trimmers, etc. Must be able to work indoors and outdoors (outdoors in hot, wet and cold - below freezing weather). This is strenuous work requiring good corrected vision, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, lifting and the ability to work on the school buildings and grounds. Must be able to communicate clearly with teachers, students, administrators and other staff members. Must be able to read and understand written orders and instructions. Must be able to understand and follow-up on oral and telephone delivered orders and instructions. Must have a valid state driver's license.
