This company is looking to fill Multiple Maintenance Shift Electrician positions at a new steel plate mill facility they have built, a $1.7 billion undertaking in KY. The role of the Maintenance Electrician is to be a great team member who demonstrates high levels of honesty, integrity, and ownership in everything they do. In addition, the selected candidates will ensure the success of the team by safely performing preventative and corrective maintenance on steel mill electrical equipment and systems, as well as proposing and implementing innovative solutions to challenges in the steel making process. Safety is the most important part of all jobs; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.They need candidates with a good foundation in electrical theory who have experience in performing electrical troubleshooting, routine and corrective maintenance on AC/DC motors, 3-phase motors, starters and drives, power distribution, control systems, PLCs and overhead cranes. You will also need to have basic mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic knowledge. This is one of the few companies that an electrician is entrusted with all aspects of the facility, high/medium voltage work, programming, networking, if it has an electron going to it (and often if it doesn't) you will work on it.They realize that you may not have all the skill sets needed, but if you have a great attitude and great aptitude towards learning an exciting manufacturing process and want to continually improve every day, then this is the right opportunity for you. They will train you and help build your skills as long as you have a solid electrical troubleshooting and repair foundation. They have an outlined training program in place and they need candidates with a strong commitment to safety. They start you out with a safety training program, as safety is something taken very seriously. You will also receive advanced training on their machinery and equipment, including PLCs, AC/DC Drives, HMI software, hydraulics and more.They are looking for people who are independent thinkers, with well-developed leadership skills that they can see as future leaders, and a collaborative, team orientated mindset.This facility has been producing steel since 2023 and this a rotating 12-hour shift role that is 4 days on, 4 days off, 4 nights on, 4 nights off. Teammates love this shift as they have plenty of time off between shifts to be with family or for hobbies like hunting and fishing. The Maintenance Electrician will work weekends and holidays when they fall on their rotating shifts, as well as scheduled and unscheduled overtime.Base salary, $85 - $90K, including base plus production bonus.
