**Job Description:**

**SUMMARY**: With supervision, is responsible for, building maintenance, repair services, and preventative maintenance to all campus facilities, equipment and grounds.

**ACCOUNTABILITIES** **:**

**Essential Functions:**

1. Performs, building maintenance, repair services and preventative maintenance for all buildings and grounds.

2. Performs a variety of repairs, installations, maintenance, and services as required to include carpentry, drywall, painting, masonry, ceramic tile, minor plumbing, minor electrical, flooring, locks and keying.

3. Performs preventative maintenance, along with minor installation, repair, and replacement of electrical and plumbing installations, and assists various tradespersons in their duties.

4. Is considered Essential Personnel and performs snow and ice removal from all roads and sidewalks.

5. Performs full range of Grounds related services such as landscaping, mowing, trimming, storm clean up, etc.

6. Maintains the campus, roads, and sidewalks free of litter and debris.

**Marginal Functions:**

1. Performs other duties as assigned.

**CONDITIONS:**

**Equipment Used:** A variety of hand and power tools, test equipment, and measuring devices. Some heavy machinery.

**Performance Standard:** Must perform maintenance and other duties in a safe, professional, and timely manner 100% of the time.

**Work Environment:** Multiple indoor/outdoor environments with a variety of lighting and temperature conditions. May be exposed to extreme weather conditions. Works from ladder or scaffolding, which may be in excess of 20 feet.

**Work Schedule:** 40 daytime hours, Monday through Friday with a daily 1/2 hour unpaid lunch break. Overtime is required on an infrequent basis. This position follows a 12-month work schedule.

**Pay Rate:** $19/hour

**Experience and Skills:**

**QUALIFICATIONS**

1. Minimum of 5 years related experience.

2. General knowledge trade work as it relates to all aspects of the Construction trade.

3. General knowledge of standard repair, replacement, installation, and maintenance procedures in the areas of plumbing, masonry, drywall, plastering, painting, electrical, welding, and other miscellaneous facilities maintenance.

4. General knowledge of the use and application of hand power tools in all of the above areas.

5. General knowledge of proper safety precautions and procedures related to assigned work.

6. Requires a 'C' driver's license and a driving record compatible with school standards.

7. General mechanical skills (for maintenance/repair, lifting devices, etc.)

8. Ability to read product manuals and directions.

9. General knowledge of Microsoft office with Basic computer skills and the ability to fill out daily electronic work orders.

10. Minimum HS Diploma or GED equivalency.

**After six months in this position, the employee is required to have:**

1. Basic knowledge of the School's HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES & EMPLOYEE SAFETY PROGRAMS.

2. Basic knowledge of the School's WRITTEN HAZARD COMMUNICATION PROGRAM.
