Hiring Rate: $18.32 hourly
Full Pay Range: $18.32 - $27.49 hourly
Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 7:00am - 4:30pm
3-day weekends Friday - Sunday

Position Overview
Under direct supervision, maintains the City's parks, operates small landscaping equipment and performs some janitorial duties. Prepares athletic fields for play. Performs related duties as required.Responsible for mowing and edging lawns and raking and cleaning flower beds in and around City parks, property and public buildings. Applies pesticides as instructed. Empties trash barrels and picks up trash at City parks, properties and public buildings. Assists in preparation for athletic and special events.
Performs basic maintenance repairs, including but not limited to painting buildings, fences and equipment. Responsible for landscaping, utilizing proper horticultural procedures. Operates equipment (riding mowers, tractors, ATV's, and pesticide applicators). Maintains and repairs irrigation systems. Loads and unloads equipment from trucks and trailers to perform assigned tasks. Safely drives to job location(s). Assists in performing any related maintenance or construction special project(s) as the needed. Responsible for regular attendance and arriving to work on time.High School diploma or GED preferred. No experience required. One (1) year experience working with commercial landscape equipment preferred.Valid Texas Class C Driver's License. Must have and maintain a good driving record in accordance with the driving standards as established by the City of Rowlett. Must report all traffic citations to his/her departmental Director or his/her designee pursuant to City policy.
Must be able to work overtime and on weekends as needed.
