About the Company: Our long standing, reputable client is looking to add an exceptional Maintenance Professional to lead it's maintenance group roughly 40 minutes outside of the El Dorado area. About the Role: To coordinate all mechanical and electrical work with the mill manager, plant superintendents, supervisors, and support staff. To develop and manage a preventative and predictive maintenance program and inventory tracking procedures. To provide leadership for all maintenance employees of the assigned mill. Oversee installation, repair and maintenance of plant machinery and equipment and coordination of outside contractors, with a primary focus on safe and continuous operation of all equipment and facilities. Organize and implement TPM (Total Predictive Maintenance) at the site if applicable.

What will you be doing?

  • Manage the work assignments of all mechanical, mobile shop and maintenance planner.
  • Manage the activities of assigned personnel to ensure maintenance excellence is achieved and maintained so that all equipment is operating at cost-effective, peak performance.
  • Forecast, develop, and manage the maintenance budget.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair machinery using blueprints, P&ID (piping and instrumental diagram) schematics and root/cause failure analysis.
  • Design, implement and oversee a maintenance apprenticeship and skills upgrade program.
  • Oversee management of the fire protection program with help of maintenance personnel.
  • Participate in the planning and implementation of all capital projects for the mill.
  • Oversee installation, repair and maintenance of plant machinery and equipment and coordination of outside contractors, vendors, regulatory agencies, corporate engineering and project managers to accomplish plant goals and objectives with a primary focus on safe and continuous operation of all equipment and facilities.
  • Review vendor quotes with purchasing and maintenance planners to assure all spare parts are purchased with new equipment. Follow-up with equipment manufacturers for performance guarantees.
  • Provide information and training on OSHA rules and regulations and additional site procedures ensuring that all safety methods are in place, fully implemented and training is documented to guarantee a safe, clean and healthy work environment for all employees and contractors.
  • Maintain a safe facility and a work climate conducive to safe working practices. Support the behavioral safety program (if applicable to the site).
  • Ensure maintenance activities follow environmental regulations and other state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Ensure that safety requirements are met in the planning and implementation process for capital projects.
  • Provide leadership in the development of both hourly and salaried employees through training, coaching, performance review feedback on all equipment and processes in area of responsibility.
  • Provide an atmosphere that leads to continual improvement in safety, reliability, quality and productivity.
  • Manage the predictive and preventative maintenance efforts of the mill.
  • Incorporate Industry best practices and standards.
  • Facilitate Root Cause Analysis and track corrective actions.
  • Champion Defect Elimination, MTBF, MTTR and Condition Monitoring.
  • Partner with Reliability Manager to ensure mill operates in precision state.

Qualifications: High School Diploma with additional technical maintenance courses required. Associate or bachelor's degree in manufacturing, maintenance, electrical or related field preferred.

What do I need to apply for consideration?

  • Advanced proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Pd.M. technologies.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and AutoCAD.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Demonstrate expertise with solving problems related to people, processes, and equipment are essential, as is the ability to lead change and compete at world-class levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage/implement large scale projects.
  • 10+ years' predictive/preventative maintenance systems experience in an Industrial Manufacturing environment with a minimum of three plus years experience specific to Wood Products.
  • Minimum of three plus years of demonstrated supervisory or lead experience.

Qualified candidates MUST HAVE experience working for a Wood Products Manufacturing facility (Plywood, Lumber, Timber, OSB, MDF, etc.). Ideal candidate will have experience working in a sawmill with BID Group equipment. Ideal candidate will have experience with Maximo but will consider other CMMS software's. MUST demonstrate solid job stability.
