This position is responsible for directing the maintenance team to achieve goals and objectives. Manage and maintain operator and utility equipment for a meat processing facility.
Essential Functions, Duties & Responsibilities:
- Directs workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
- Leads the Maintenance Team in the day-to-day operations to include safety, production, costs, quality, team building, and other areas as required to meet facility goals.
- Assures standard operational procedures are followed to meet established equipment standards.
- Helps develop and meet plant safety goals.
- Assures production schedules are met with respect to equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Tracks outside contractor activities and communicates to plant.
- Uses the computerized maintenance management system to document, analyze, and manage the equipment management process.
- Attends and completes mandated Corporate supervisory training.
- Identified employee development needs and coordinates appropriate training programs to ensure that maintenance personnel attain and retain the skills and technical information necessary to maintain the production and support equipment for long term optimal performance.
- Identified equipment performance bottlenecks and/or maintenance cost issues and initiates improvement efforts.
- Identifies and recommends spare parts stocking levels.
- Maintains all shops, boiler rooms, engine rooms and work areas in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Ability to read, analyzes, and interpret general business periodicals, Journals, Technical Procedures, and Governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence and manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commission, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Knowledge of Basic Algebra.
- Other duties as required.
- Directly Supervise the day-to-day operation of waste treatment systems.
- Assure Food Safety processes are followed, and all legal requirements are met.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Engineering or Technical equivalent from four-year college or university preferred; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Directly overseas the day-to-day operation of NH3 system.
- Manage S&P and WWT Budgets to goals.
- Participates in Safety Audits and Meetings.
Working Conditions: Approximately 70% of this individual's time will be spent in a manufacturing environment, which is cold and wet. Approximately 30% of the time will be spent in a controlled office environment.
