Job Title:Maintenance Supervisor (All Shift Support)Type of Position:12-month contract position to start. Possible to be renewed, likely long term for direct hire.Job Location:Romulus, MI (on site role)Compensation:Will generally be $50.00/hr to $55.00/hr (depending on experience). Overtime is paid at 1.5x over 40 hours. Doubletime paid at 2.0x if working on Sunday (and over 40 hours). Off shift premiums are paid when working off shift. Due to the amount of OT, we expect candidates to make in the $140K/yr to $180K/yr range in this role.Benefits:Available (medical, dental, 401k, vision, etc)You will have 7 paid holidays and 5 days PTO per year (PTO accrues over time). Job Description:HRU Technical Resources has partnered with a major automotive manufacturer to hire a Maintenance Supervisor for a major powertrain plant. This role will be providing support to all 3 shifts, and we're seeking candidates who are flexible to work any shift as needed. This role will establish, implement, and maintain long-range plans for improvement of maintenance activities and provide technical assistance to the manufacturing departments supported. A typical maintenance supervisor is responsible for the effective use of personnel, materials, and equipment in supporting Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness and Cost goals (SPQRC) initiatives.Job Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with corporate safety policies, initiatives, and housekeeping standards.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Support plant goals related to Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness and Cost goals (SPQRC).
  • Oversee construction and maintenance projects, maintaining schedule and quality standards.
  • Assist in implementing divisional and corporate policies, including labor agreements.
  • Train, evaluate, and develop employees to meet operational standards.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to resolve issues as needed.
  • Plan and execute maintenance activities within budget, manpower, and time constraints
Skills:
  • Must be willing to work any assigned shift, work daily, weekend, and holiday overtime as required.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical concepts.
  • Experience in machine, assembly and/or facility areas.
  • Knowledge of and ability to ensure a safe industrial work environment.
  • Knowledge of basic math including trigonometry.
  • Knowledge of clerical work, data gathering, machine studies.
  • Experience in supervision of multi-trade workforce.
  • Strong knowledge of tooling, manufacturing, and assembly processes.
  • Have successfully completed behavior-based competency assessments- which measure ability to learn, adaptability, initiative, motivational fit, decision making, results orientation, teamwork, empowerment, organization, and planning competencies (DDI inventories and assessments).
  • High level of analytical ability where problems are complex.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate, and elicit output.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
  • Knowledge with Microsoft Outlook, Lotus Notes or other email communication tools.
  • Ability to work well with others, exhibiting teamwork skills.
  • Ability to partner with senior management to analyze and solve issues.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Typical Day In The Role:
  • Starts off with shift meeting recapping the previous shift.
  • Making sure they have the right alignment for manpower.
  • Adjusting to the day based on the critical need.
  • Understanding what is going to make the most impact and production needs and buffers.
  • Will work with teams of 12 to 16.
Education / Experience Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required at a minimum. Associate Degree or higher education is welcomed (but not required).
  • We are looking for candidates with 2 years of practical relevant experience at a minimum (4+ years is preferred). Seeking relevant CNC experience.
  • Need to have practical experience and problem-solving skills. For example, someone that knows how to define and resolve the problem.
  • Experience working with Union (UAW) personnel is a plus.
  • Tech savvy individuals are a plus (and will do well in this role).
Work Environment / Other Info:
  • This role can work on any shift - and we need candidates who are flexible to work any shift.
  • The work environment will alternate between climate controlled (office environment) and the shop floor (not climate controlled).
  • This role will be Monday to Friday and frequent Saturdays (as needed). Sundays may be possible on occasion.
  • Regular overtime is expected in this role (up to a max of 16 hours per week). OT is paid at 1.5x. Doubletime (2.0x) will be paid on Sunday if already over 40 hours for the week.
  • This role may require passing a drug screen (although this drug screen will NOT test for Cannabis). There will also be a background check and fit for work physical.
