Constellium is a global sector leader that develops innovative, value-added aluminum products for a broad scope of markets and applications, focusing in particular on aerospace, automotive and packaging.Primary PurposeThe shift supervisor must provide the necessary leadership to manage all aspects of a shift. This position is responsible for coordinating safety, quality, productivity and continuous improvement for their assigned crew. The jobholder must be able to effectively manage the union workforce within the boundaries of the collective bargaining agreementThe supervisor must have conflict resolution skills in order to provide the leadership necessary to identify and resolve problems. They must be willing and able to act independently and lead the effort to determine root cause and implement corrective actions, as required.Key AccountabilitiesResponsible for the maintenance crew in their assigned department.Achieve the weekly, monthly, and annual operating results for all KPl's Responsible for personnel - hourly employees
  • Achieve the EHS plan for their department
  • Utilize safety procedures and tools to ensure work is executed in a safe manner and EHS First standards are always met.
  • Complete assigned work during the shift including safety work orders, breakdowns, PMs, and priority work orders while coordinating with the production supervisor to maintain metal flow through the department.
  • Complete work orders and other required documentation, ensuring craft time is properly accounted and notifications for follow-up work is documented in the system.
  • Accurately document completed and uncompleted work with an effective turnover to the following shift.
  • Transparently communicate unresolved issues and difficulties to direct supervisor
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends and shift work as requiredEnsure compliance to the rules governing the safe and efficient operation of the plant.
Provide leadership in Continuous Improvement in their assigned department. Improve on existing processes so that the plant becomes more profitable Responsible for conformance to Constellium policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • Coach and counsel employees on standard operating practices and best practices for increased performance
Leadership Compentencies and Technical Skills
  • High school degree with technical electrical/mechanical training is required; Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • 5 Years' supervisory or leadership experience. Union and manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in troubleshooting electrical or mechanical equipment
  • Knowledge of overhead and gantry cranes with AC/DC motors.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems, instrumentation controls, drives, 13.8KV/480 KV power systems, and AC/DC motors is preferred.
  • Expertise with combustion systems is a plus
Complexity Requires the ability to identify and resolve both the short and long-term problems. Must be able to complete work independently or work in a team of superiors and subordinates. Position requires a run it as your business attitude.Significant Relationships Internal
