Job Description:
Specialty Granules (SGI) is seeking Maintenance Supervisors in Pembine, WI. In this role, you will oversee plant repairs, alterations, and preventive maintenance to enhance productivity. You'll also manage maintenance technicians to ensure the timely and efficient completion of all maintenance tasks.Compensation/Benefits:At SGI, our employees are our greatest asset. SGI offers:$80,000-$95,000 per year, depending on knowledge and experience. an excellent benefits package, including401(k)medical, dental, vision, prescription drug, and life insurance,and vacation package.Requirements:Education/ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum five (5)+ years of practical experience as a mechanic or electronic technician in a high-volume manufacturing operation, preferably continuous process. Ability to read blueprints, schematics, shop drawings, and sketches. Familiarity with standard manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures. Must be able to maintain electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.Must have intermediate proficiency using variable frequency drives and AC & DC drives. Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without need for employer-sponsored visa (work permit).Preferred Qualifications:Technical school training/diploma/certification.Intermediate proficiency in using root cause analysis to troubleshoot and solve problems.Proficiency in electrical distribution systems and instrumentation.Proficiency in PLC programming, debugging, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of rotating equipment, machine design, bearings, and lubrication. Physical Requirements:Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.Must be able to climb ladders and/or stairs.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.Frequent sitting, walking, standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing.Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.Occasionally operate business machines. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Supervise maintenance technicians and contractor work.Improve communication and coordination between maintenance and other departments, especially production.Plan, coordinate, and implement maintenance activities to ensure timely completion and machine reliability.Address and prevent issues arising during shutdowns.Ensure workplace safety by adhering to company policies, leading safety meetings, and conducting inspections.Train and engage technicians, ensuring they meet department expectations and safety standards.Provide leadership, administrative support, and on-the-job training for maintenance staff.Address performance issues fairly and promptly, offering effective feedback.Manage technician schedules, track leave, and assist in hiring and interviews.Identify ongoing training needs for the department.Minimize maintenance costs without impacting operations, utilizing in-house resources and evaluating cost-saving alternatives.Support large capital projects, reviewing equipment design and safety.Communicate project plans, progress, and changes to the maintenance team.Collaborate with the Maintenance Planner to balance priorities, resources, and schedules, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity.
