Maintenance Supervisor

Location: Richmond, Indiana Area

Salary: $75k-$85k annually + 5% annual bonus eligibility

Schedule: Third shift, 11pm-7am with two rotating days off per week

Team: Supervises 3 mechanics

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of maintenance technicians during third shift operations. The ideal candidate will oversee maintenance processes, ensure equipment reliability, and implement preventive maintenance programs. The role requires technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and familiarity with industrial equipment in manufacturing environments. Candidates with food or beverage industry experience and a background in union environments are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assign and prioritize daily tasks, oversee work orders, and monitor shift performance.
  • Implement and manage a preventive and predictive maintenance program to minimize downtime.
  • Oversee repairs and maintenance of pumps, conveyors, ammonia systems, PLCs, and other plant equipment.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for emergency maintenance issues during the shift.
  • Use computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to log and monitor maintenance activities.
  • Conduct root cause analyses on equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Partner with inventory teams to maintain adequate supplies of parts and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures, OSHA regulations, and company standards.
  • Train and coach team members on safe practices, equipment usage, and maintenance processes.
  • Collaborate with leadership to plan maintenance shutdowns, capital projects, and process improvements.
  • Administer employee performance evaluations, timekeeping, and development plans.
  • Support a culture of safety and reliability through leadership and clear communication.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial setting.
  • Prior leadership experience (supervisory or team lead role preferred).
  • Experience in food or beverage manufacturing is a plus.
  • Familiarity with union environments is highly preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of pumps, conveyors, PLCs, and ammonia systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (email, reporting) and CMMS software.
  • Certifications/licenses in areas such as refrigeration, electrical, welding, or boiler operations are a plus.

  • Adaptable to changing operational needs and able to lead through transitions.
