Michigan Sugar Company has an immediate full-time opportunity for a Maintenance Systems Specialist, located at the Bay City Factory.Job Summary:The Maintenance Systems Specialist is responsible for overseeing and optimizing maintenance systems and processes within Michigan Sugar. This role involves ensuring the efficient operation of our maintenance management software, improving maintenance workflows, and providing technical support to maintenance teams. The specialist will work closely with various departments to enhance equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support overall operational efficiency.
Primary Responsibilities: - Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards for all maintenance activities.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety protocols and procedures.
- Administer and maintain Michigan Sugar's CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Ensure accurate data entry and update maintenance records within the systems. Capture clean work order history - including hours, parts, bill of materials, job tasks, as found and transfer written As Found - As Left information into CMMS.
- Create job plans from written task steps and material requirement templates.
- Update existing CMMS parts library into standardized attribute format.
- Load factory equipment and catalog item nameplate and specification data into equipment and item records.
- Provide technical support and training to maintenance personnel on the use of maintenance software and systems.
- Locate and load missing equipment and material information from electronic records, purchase information, operation and maintenance manuals and other data sources into the CMMS equipment and item records.
- Load and purify bill of material (BOM) data/parts list.
- Manage parent/child equipment hierarchies.
- Oversee inventory of maintenance supplies and spare parts. Evaluate parts usage to develop Min/Max/Reorder points.
- Enter purchase requisitions for all planned services.
- Complete all work request updates, progress information, completed projects, work histories, work management updates, and issuing required reports within the system.
- Track and manage spare parts, replacement equipment, and new equipment purchases.
- Assist the maintenance team with all plant equipment data entry, including new equipment, updates, and removal of old equipment from the system.
- Work with the engineering team on capital projects to obtain vendor equipment information to create and load asset hierarchy, equipment records, preventive maintenance tasks, bill of materials, and job plans for new assets.
- Generate and analyze maintenance reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs), including but not limited to: downtime reporting, work order completion rates, purchase request/purchase order status reports, inventory management reports, storeroom cycle counts, cost history and budget reports.
- Analyze maintenance processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations to improve maintenance strategies.
- Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to enhance maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline maintenance excellence.
- All other duties, as assigned.
Position Qualifications: - Associate's degree in technical curriculum or business degree with industrial manufacturing experience.
- 3-5 years of experience working within an Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) or Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Proficient in EAM or CMMS software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) or similar are a plus.
- Experience with project planning and scheduling tools and managing master document libraries within document control systems desired.
