Granite Summit Facilities/Maintenance Team Member Job Description Department: Facilities/Maintenance Reports To: Facilities Operations Director and/or Site Manager Summary: Facilities/Maintenance Team Member duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to the following: Pali Mountain is seeking facility/maintenance staff to help maintain our beautiful site. We operate as a summer camp, outdoor education facility, and retreat center. Facilities staff play an integral part in keeping Pali operating and safe for our guests. Responsibilities include general maintenance in the form of painting, fixing toilets, carpentry, landscaping, working with power tools, as well as heavy machinery. The above description of duties are examples and may go beyond these and include duties as assigned. Pali has guests and operates 365 days a year, this includes inclement weather. Facilities staff will help in snow removal as well as weed abatement and landscaping as needed. Pali facilities staff have access to tools for work as well as on-site transportation to get around the site and access to the shop during work hours. Duties are dependent on program needs as well as issues that come up. Pali serves guests of all ages. Projects and maintenance occur while guests are on-site, so safety is paramount. Must be 18yrs or older to apply. Experience is a must. Ideal Candidate(s) have:

  • Reliable Transportation - Pali Operates year Round
  • Experience in a trade and general maintenance
  • Ability to be self-motivated and solution oriented.
  • Physically able to lift 50lbs, walk-up three flights of stairs, bend, kneel, stoop, squat, work outdoors in inclement weather, use hand tools such as shovels, ability to use power tools
  • Customer focused mind-set
  • Ability to work in a team
  • Strong work ethic
Essential Duties, Responsibilities & Skills:
  • Maintenance team members are responsible for responding to all maintenance duties and requests as instructed or assigned including the following but not limited to,
  • Perform general labor, such as carrying, stacking, and sorting of materials used in and around various job sites, as well as debris removal.
  • Using employer supplied vehicles for travel to pick up supplies and parts as needed.
  • Loading and unloading of materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Removing debris, garbage, and dangerous materials from sites.
  • Assembling and breaking down barricades, temporary structures, and scaffolding.
  • Assisting contractors, e.g. electricians and painters, as required.
  • Assisting with transport and operation of heavy machinery and equipment.
  • Digging holes, tunnels, and shafts.
  • Assisting with mixing, pouring, and leveling concrete.
  • Patch painting, changing out lights, locks, basic plumbing, tiling, drywall
  • Clean up job site and equipment by means of vacuum, mop, broom, floor scrubber, waxer, steam cleaner, high-pressure spray cleaner, as well as other types of cleaning devices or equipment
  • Clearing drains, by means of plunger and hand-held auger.
  • Changing light bulbs and HVAC filters.
  • Ensures on-site and off-site housing service requests are responded to promptly and professionally.
  • Complies with all Company practices, applicable health and safety rules and regulations, as well as applicable local, state and federal laws.
  • Inspects buildings and grounds to ensure safety and cleanliness, and alerts Site Manager to items that need repaired or replaced.
  • Participates in diagnosing problems and repairs in areas of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, swimming pool, carpentry, dry walling, exterior and interior structural and various appliances.
  • Ability to use all standard maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to use general office equipment, such as telephone, computer, fax machine, printers and copiers.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Salary and Benefits:
  • $20-$25hr. DOE, Full-time
