TEXAS LEADERSHIP PUBLIC SCHOOLSJob Title: Maintenance WorkerDepartment: OperationsReports To: Operations ManagerFLSA Status: Non-ExemptGENERAL PURPOSE:All maintenance workers are to complete general maintenance and repair of charter facilities, including but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, and sanitary systems; as well as assist with grounds maintenance.PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:The following duties ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification, only a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.Help with general facility maintenance and repair, including repairing woodwork: replacing electrical switches, fixtures, and motors; painting, repairing, and replacing plumbing fixtures and drainage systems; and replacing broken glassExamine facility exterior and interior, playground equipment and grounds; perform maintenance and minor repairsAdvise supervisor on all detected major facility repairsConduct all repairs as assigned by work order or supervisorAssist with ground maintenance including moving and detailingAssist with moving of furnishings, such as desks, tables, chairs, file cabinets, etc. and perform repairs when neededHang pictures, mirrors, blackboards, bulletin boards, projection screens, towel dispensers, soap dispensers and other items as requested.Install door and window assemblies and hardware, including window glass and screens.Install ceiling and flooring materials.Transport charter equipment and furnitureUse equipment and tools following charter safety guidelines.Follow charter safety guidelines and techniques to accomplish job dutiesMake work area free of unsafe conditions and inform supervisor of problems that cannot be immediately corrected.Keep tools and equipment in optimum working order through required preventative maintenance.Other duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSSkills:Capable of following verbal and written instructions.Working knowledge of basic construction and routine maintenance and repair procedures.Effective verbal communication skills.Capable of operating hand and power tools.Capable of independent work.Must have a good driving record and be able to adhere to the minimum age requirement for insurability purposes.Physical Demands / Work Environment:Work requires being on your feet for long periods of timeLifting of up to 50 pounds unassistedExposure to outside conditionsTravel may be required
