Maintenance Technician II Job Description Position/Title: Maintenance Technician II Department: Maintenance Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor Position Summary: Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor the Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives. Responsibilities/Duties: Lead team as needed, plan day to day tasks, keep team motivated and adhere to SA Automotive Core Values. •Able to perform all duties of Maintenance Technician I •License Hi-lo driver 5000lbs. to 30,000 lbs. and die setting forklift use, Man lift/articulating boom use •Lock out Tag out •Advance skills for setting and pulling compression molds, including prototype and new tool trial set-up •Advance skills for processing compression molds, ability to solve molding problems, including processing of new or prototype tools •Advanced welding skills to include MIG and TIG welding, brazing and cutting using acetylene and oxygen torch. Plasma cutting. Fabrication of machine components and other projects •Advanced preventative maintenance skills: Complete tear down and refurbishment, of various plant equipment, to include electrical, hydraulic and mechanical devices •Advanced electrical skills: Ability to troubleshoot and repair low and high voltage circuits, machine controls •Basic to advanced programming skills: ability to troubleshoot and repair machine logic and PLC's •Advanced hydraulic skills: Ability to troubleshoot and repair advanced hydraulic circuits components and equipment •Advanced mechanical skills: Ability to troubleshoot and repair advanced mechanical problems, including close tolerance equipment where applicable •Advanced Pneumatic skills: Understanding and troubleshooting compressed air circuits, components, and systems, including compressors and dryers. Competent in above (tech 1 skills) •PLC/HMI programming SG-FO-621-002 It is the user's responsibility to verify latest revision. REV. 11-01-18 For SA Automotive Internal Use Only - Reno, NV •Ability to design build machine electrical panel •Rebuild pneumatic cylinders •Complete vacuum pump rebuilding •Advanced trouble shooting of equipment •Advanced proximity, and sensor knowledge •Advance vision system knowledge for poke yoke •Advanced relay and ladder logic control circuits •Ability to work on 24 volts to 480 3 phase •Control transformer knowledge •Conduit bending and wiring for machine runs •Tool PM knowledge •Robot Programming and repair •Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervisor/management •Is conscientious, and follows all plant Quality Teams' requirements •Comply with all safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas procedures (5S) •Must be available on an ON-CALL basis •Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas (5S) •Follow all clean up and housekeeping procedures (5S) i.e. production floor, shipping & receiving office and warehouse as needed •Ability to communicate and understand verbal and written instructions in English •Perform other duties as assigned or required Specific Knowledge, Skills, Licenses, Certifications, Etc.: •Requires a high school diploma/GED and completion of skills or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience •2 plus years manufacturing maintenance experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC. Vacuum forming experience is preferred •Must be highly motivated and able to work independently Requirements Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on production machinery and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform repairs as needed.
  • Assist with electrical maintenance and repairs under supervision.
  • Ensure that all maintenance tasks are completed efficiently and accurately, logging any completed work in the maintenance management system.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance shop and work areas.
  • Work with Production to ensure timely response to equipment failures.
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development of skills.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, Licenses, Certifications, Etc:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in maintenance or a related field preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with maintenance management software.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to machinery and tools.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
