JOB PROFILE: Manufacturing Maintenance Technician 5am-1:30pmOrganizational Impact: The Maintenance Technician will oversee the general upkeep of the building and its infrastructure. Their role is to maintain the building operation and ensure that the facilities are always safe and functional. The Maintenance Technician can manage technical repairs like inspection and fixing HVAC systems alongside aesthetic maintenance like applying new coats of paint and trimming bushes and grass on facility grounds. The Maintenance Tech willalso manage routine maintenance and emergency repairs to prevent and resolve safety or comfort issues. The Maintenance Tech will install new equipment and oversee building upgrades according to Management requests and to preserve the facility.Position Type: Full-time, Non-ExemptKnowledge & Experience: Entry level job. Must be able to work independently with good judgement skills.Essential Functions | Accountabilities | Performance Measures
- Carefully read manuals of equipment and interpret them to understand how to operate and maintain them properly.
- Inspect newly acquired equipment upon arrival checking every part to be sure that they are working and meet industry standards before they are used in the factory.
- Strictly abide by safety regulations during manufacturing activities, keeping equipment in check to avoid mechanical hazards that could cause harm to operators and workers.
- Teach workers how to operate equipment to avoid pressing the wrong buttons that could trigger accidents, which could lead to casualties.
- Enroll for continuous training and education on technical maintenance practices to be updated with the latest maintenance techniques and be able to keep equipment in the best possible conditions.
- Carry out routine servicing of equipment as part of measures to prevent breakdowns and malfunctions, which could thwart production activities.
- Keep record of maintenance activities to track the lifespan of equipment. When equipment breakdown continues too frequently after repeated repairs, it will need to be replaced.
- Trouble shoot equipment to determine specific manufacturing issues and tackle them accordingly.
Qualifications Required:
- Plumbing knowledge to address leaks, clogs, or other drainage problems.
- Electrical wiring capabilities to manage problems with the building's electricity.
- Carpentry ability to handle basic repairs around the building.
- Interpersonal skills to interact with employees of the building in a pleasant manner.
