Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensures operation of greenhouse equipment by completing predictive and preventative maintenance requirements on:
- Automated material handling systems
- Automated packaging systems
- Conveyor systems
- Production machines
- Ability to read and understand:
- Mechanical and electrical diagrams
- Electrical diagrams
- Operations manuals
- Manufacturer's instructions
- Engineering specifications
- Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation such as:
- Listening for problems
- Using precision measuring and testing instruments
- Installation and repair of industrial electronic control systems (including hardwired input/output, ethernet based communication systems, variable speed drives and process control equipment)
- Calibrating equipment
- Inspect designs for quality control
- Comply to all safety policies, procedures, and good work practices.
Education/Background Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent and formal trade school course work required.
- Electromechanical troubleshooting (controls, components, control wiring diagnosis, current testers, multimeters.
- Functional understanding of electrical terminology and system troubleshooting procedures.
- 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment as a technical specialist.
- Mechanical comprehension and functional understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical drives and motors, bearings, fasteners and fittings, and hardware.
- Previous related work experience required
- Supervisory experience required
Working Conditions:
- Environment includes an expansive refrigerated warehouse, where the temperature averages 50°F.
- Greenhouse environment with variable and fluctuating temperatures based on season with high temperatures in the summer months.
- Must be able to work around bees.
- Fluctuating hours and schedules subject to greenhouse needs
- Background noise approaches 70
- Must be capable of lifting up to 30
