Job Title: Maintenance TechnicianJob Summary:Candidate must be able to work on aluminum extrusion presses, associated handling equipment and other support equipment. Experience with motors, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, single phase and three phase electrical systems, conveyor systems, and production machines; follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions. This is a hands-on position that requires you to be out in the plant working on large industrial machinery.Responsibilities and Duties:
- The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all production and plant support systems with primary focus on aluminum extrusion presses and equipment.
- Works within an environment focused on the reduction of unplanned downtime
- Monitors all equipment to ensure reliability
- Repairs, installs, adjusts, modifies, and services all types of production equipment, plant instrumentation and relays.
- Troubleshoots hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Reads PLC ladder logic to troubleshoot
- Participates in the preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, 5S, and Process Teams.
- Completes work orders in a safe and appropriate manner
- Maintains open communication with Operators, Supervisors, Production Management and Planning.
- Provides support to other maintenance technicians
- Identifies and reports opportunities for improvement of PM's and spare parts controls
- Works collaboratively with other functional areas to ensure accomplishment of overall plant objectives
- Applies lean manufacturing tools & principles in maintenance activities
- Documents spare parts usage
- Works within scheduling requirements
- Interacts daily with press supervisors and functional department leaders
- Reports to the Maintenance Manager with support / guidance from Lead Extrusion Press Engineer
Qualifications and Skills:
- Journeyman status in a skilled trades discipline, associate degree, or Certification in Electrical or Mechanical technology with 2 years manufacturing related or control programming experience or discretionary equivalent.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills
- Highly skilled in the areas of mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical
- Specialized skills in industrial maintenance, industrial technology, mechanical drawing, math, computer programming, electronics or another related field
- Critical thinking and problem-solving ability
- Proficient in electrical installation, maintenance and repair
Pay: $25-$45 per hour based on skill set.Benefits:
