Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery, equipment, and physical structures in a manufacturing plant. This role requires expertise in various maintenance functions, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, with a strong preference for previous experience in cut/sew manufacturing. The technician will ensure the continuous, efficient, and safe operation of all equipment, working independently and as part of a team to support plant operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Troubleshoot and repair manufacturing machinery, with a focus on cut/sew equipment, to ensure efficient operation and minimize downtime.
* Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and repairs on all equipment, machinery, and systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
* Conduct facility maintenance activities, including repair and maintenance of the physical plant structure, fixtures, and equipment.
* Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals to ensure proper setup, repair, and maintenance of equipment.
* Utilize and troubleshoot PLCs and other electronic controls to diagnose issues and optimize equipment functionality.
* Maintain an organized record of repairs, maintenance activities, and inventory of spare parts.
* Collaborate with and assist in training other maintenance technicians to enhance team capabilities.
* Respond to emergency breakdowns with flexibility to work outside standard hours as needed.
* Ensure adherence to all safety and regulatory standards in maintenance activities and practices.
Required Qualifications:
* Education and Experience:
* High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, electrical, or mechanical engineering preferred.
* Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in industrial maintenance, ideally within a cut/sew manufacturing environment.
* Previous experience working with cut/sew machinery is highly preferred.
* Technical Skills:
* Proficient in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance.
* Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting and basic programming.
* Ability to read electrical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
* Skilled in using a variety of tools, including lathes, mills, and other shop equipment for building fixtures.
* Other Competencies:
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly analyze and address technical issues.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and function effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
* Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and other departments as needed.
* Physical Demands and Work Environment:
* Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, and crawl for extended periods.
* Frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
* Exposure to moving mechanical parts, extreme temperatures, and occasional outdoor work; proper PPE will be provided.
* Certifications/Licenses:
* No specific certifications or licenses are required for this role, though technical certifications are a plus.
Starting Pay Rate: $23.45/hour
Shift: 1st
Standard shift hours: 6am-4:30pm (Mon-Thur)
