Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for its New Orleans, LA facility.

The basic function of this role is the responsibility for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment such as: centrifugal & reciprocating compressors, process pumps (cryogenic & noncryogenic), gear drives, vessels, heat exchangers, centrifugal & reciprocating expansion engines, all involving a variety of fluids and specific requirements at the New Orleans Facility and associated Satellites.

The facilities at which work is performed (New Orleans & Satellites) are located mainly in Louisiana, Alabama, and Mississippi; however, travel through-out the Gulf Coast and Texas is possible. Satellite plants include Chalmette, La., Belle Chasse, La., Convent, La., Brookhaven, Ms., Claiborne, Al., New Augusta, Ms., Etc. Regional travel is required, and up to 35%.

Required Skills / Abilities:

* Applicants must have a background in pumps, mechanical seals, heat exchangers, turbines, gear drives, and reciprocating/centrifugal compressors.

* Take critical measurements on equipment and be able to use machinist's precision tools.

* Perform dial indicator and laser shaft alignment.

* Utilize standard tools for predictive & preventive maintenance and troubleshooting, i.e, infrared thermography, handheld vibration transducers, etc.

* Rebuild/maintain centrifugal and reciprocating equipment (i.e., compressors, pumps, expanders, blowers, etc.)

* Taking the training required to act as crane lift supervisor for crane lifts on site.

* Utilize equipment files for troubleshooting of equipment.

* Have adequate computer skillset in order to understand the process of Inputting work notifications/work orders into SAP program.

* This is a safety sensitive position.

Minimum Hiring Requirements:

* High school diploma/GED

* Trade/Technical degree or apprenticeship in a related field

* Minimum 4 years of industrial (Chemical/Petrochemical) maintenance experience

* Strong machinery and rotating equipment knowledge

* Detail oriented and willing to document details appropriately.

* Strong troubleshooting and fault isolation skills

* Strong personal safety philosophy

* Must be team oriented and have a willingness to learn and further develop technical skills.

* A background in machining technology is a plus (Lathes, Bridgeport, Drill Press, Surface Grinders, etc.)

* Be able to meet call-in requirements as needed.

* Military service in a related field a plus but not required.

* Regional travel in the south region.

* 4/10 schedule

* 6am-4:3pm
