Job DescriptionDuties and Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment- evaluate equipment operation and perform necessary action
when malfunction occurs, or improvements are needed.
- Performs preventive maintenance activities as dictated by work schedule.
- Administration-distribute work orders, process/ summarize work order data, initiate purchase
requisitions, utilize equipment and process documentation.
- Keep MDI Board current and up to date.
- Comply and participate regulatory, Carlisle, And departmental policies, procedures, and
standards (PSM, safety protocols, COS)
- Provide training to Maintenance technicians I & II & III as needed.
- Articulate to vendors/engineer's machine issue to resolve technical issues.
- Handle and audit preventative maintenance procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Ability to train and lead a team of 4 or more Maintenance Technicians.
- Knowledge of measuring gauges such as tape measures.
- Knowledge of various hand and power tools.
- Prior experience operating a forklift.
- Working knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of basic math, reading, and writing skills.
- Ability to work under pressure to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations.
- Have boiler operator certification or ability to obtain boiler certification.
- Working knowledge of electrical codes including NEMA, etc. (NFPA 70E, Arc Flash)
- Industrial electrical AC/DC troubleshooting skills, including ability to utilize electrical
instrumentation (megohmmeter).
- Complete knowledge of all plant equipment (level III).
- Ability to use hand& portable tools, gas and arc welder, forklift, pickup truck, testing equipment,
tape measure, computer (shop floor and ERP).Education And Experience
- Required:
- Education – High School diploma or GED required.
- Five (5) years minimum maintenance experience as a hands-on craftsman in an
industrial/manufacturing environment associated with engineering or maintenanceactivity.
- Understanding of basic mechanical & electrical principles as they apply to plant/process
specific equipment (hydraulic and pneumatic systems also) along with the ability totroubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Ability to comprehend complex technical topics and specialized information.
- Prior leadership experience with a team of no less than four (4) employees
- Some knowledge and experience in using a forklift and scissor lift.
- Experience with computers including Microsoft Office suite programs (Word, Excel,
Outlook)
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of basic math, reading, and writing skills
- Ability to work under pressure to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations.
Working Conditions
- Fast paced manufacturing environment where workers are exposed to both ambient/outside
temperatures and dust; working with mechanical parts and pinch points; exposure to increasednoise levels.
- Exposure to hazardous mechanical, electrical and chemical substances/equipment.
- Confined workspaces.
