As a Maintenance Technician you will safely provide support to the maintenance and operations teams by performing routine preventative, breakdown and upgrade maintenance as necessary in order to improve the production equipment and process during normal production hours.Duties include, but are not limited to:- Minor/extensive repair calls,- Preventative maintenance (PM) tasks- Equipment troubleshooting and installation- Root cause analysis- Any other necessary task(s) that are outside of the normal capabilities of production personnelThe successful candidate will demonstrate the willingness and ability to troubleshoot, use good judgment, and make proper decisions in compliance with safety policies (JHAs, SJPs, LOTO) throughout the facility and with equipment used and maintained, all of which are necessary for meeting job expectations and the prevention of downtime.General mechanical and electrical knowledge is necessary. Safety is the most important part of all jobs with this client; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards always.Your role is to take care of all related electrical maintenance and assist with mechanical maintenance as well. You will be doing troubleshooting and repairs and provide technical support and assistance to the production team. They need candidates with a positive attitude, who are goal oriented, interested in self-improvement, and team oriented.They need candidates with a good foundation in electrical theory who have experience in performing electrical troubleshooting, routine and corrective maintenance on AC/DC motors, starters and drives, power distribution, control systems, PLCs and overhead cranes. You will also need to have basic mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic knowledge. This is one of the few companies that an electrician is entrusted with all aspects of the facility, high/medium voltage work, programming, networking, if it has an electron going to it (and often if it doesn't) you will work on it at this company. The company has an outlined training program in place, and they need candidates with a strong commitment to safety. They start you out with a safety training program, as safety is something taken very seriously there. You will also receive advanced training on their machinery and equipment, including PLCs, AC/DC drives, HMI software, hydraulics and more. This position is for a Tubular Division of the largest steel producer in the country, they do not produce steel at this division, instead they get sheet steel from one of their mills and produce tubular products, rolling and welding the steel to make tubes. This is a rotating 12-hour shift position, 4 on 4 off rotating between days and nights with built-in overtime. Employees there love this shift.Production bonus is paid on a weekly basis. This is a stable company with a no lay-off practice.
