Overall ResponsibilityUnder the direction of the Director of Administration, the Maintenance Tech is responsible for a variety of work in the general maintenance and repair of Flance property and equipment. This position involves maintaining electrical, mechanical, and related systems, as well as reporting and completing all safety-related maintenance duties. Interactions Reviews monthly facility walkthrough findings needing addressing with the Director of Administration.Receives and reviews work order requests submitted by staff.Instructs volunteers on workday projects.Assists the Director of Administration with contacting contractors for needed repairs. Implementation Assists in determining the plan to address maintenance/repair needs.Completes daily, weekly, or monthly maintenance/repair needs including plumbing, electrical, painting, drywall, or any other cosmetic repair.Cleans HVAC equipment as needed.Assembles classroom equipment. Planning Completes monthly facility walkthrough.Develops a list of contractors for maintenance/repair needs that cannot be completed internally. Skills and Attributes Attention to detail and ability to follow through.Professional appearance and demeanor.Must be welcoming and approachable.Must be extremely well-organized and flexible; strong time management skills.Desire to work around children and families, people of all ages. Environmental FactorsWorks indoors and outdoors. Noise and activity levels can be high; staff, visitors, families, and children come and go at all times. Position requires a health screen and annual Family Safety Registry background check. Flance Center is a busy, unique environment. Employees are expected to participate fully in the life of the Center. All employees must be able to lift 25 lbs. in the event of an evacuation or emergency situation. Education/Experience Two years of maintenance experience.Previous experience in an educational and/or group home environment is a plus.Experience servicing HVAC equipment, electrical systems, and plumbing is a plus.Understanding of child care licensing regulations is a plus.
