Job Description:
The primary focus of this position is to support the manufacturing operations team by maintaining all machines and equipment in the building to ensure departments are able achieve plant production goals.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
  • Ensure all production equipment is maintained and in working order.
  • Perform reactive, predictive and preventative maintenance within the facility, to include but not limited to lubrication, inspections, and repair of equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair machinery, electrical components, pneumatic equipment, and hydraulic equipment;
  • Fabricate equipment using arc and gas welding techniques as needed.
  • Observe mechanical & electrical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble.
  • Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Repair or replace defective parts. Lubricate and clean parts.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required; plus a mechanical or electrical journeyman's card and/or minimum of 5 years of mechanical or electrical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.OTHER QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Proficient mechanical & electrical skills are required, in addition to basic mathematical skills.
  • Blueprint reading skills, knowledge of the NEC 70 (national electric code), and knowledge of OSHA CFR 1910.217 is needed.
  • Experience with various measuring instruments, multi-meters, amp probes, thermocouples, torque wrenches is required.
  • In-depth knowledge and practical application experience in electrical, electronics, PLC's, cutting/welding hydraulics, pneumatics, and conveyor systems is required.
  • Strong knowledge of Preventative Maintenance procedures is required.
  • Required computer skills include but are not limited to: data entry into the CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) and use of PLC programming tools.
  • Experience with RS Logix, RS Linx, and RS Panelbuilder is a plus.
  • Ability to apply sizing and selection of: conduits, wiring, circuit breakers, fuses, drills and taps is required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data are required.
  • Self-motivation and a demonstrated ability to work independently with little or no supervision are required.
  • Strong teamwork and oral/written communication skills are required.
  • Good attendance and safety record is required.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work overtime, off shifts, and weekends is required.
