Together under the Shyft umbrella, our teams drive new synergies that bring innovations to life on the road - for an experience that is safer, more satisfying, more rewarding all around.With 50 years and millions of miles behind us, we continue to charge forward - leading the commercial vehicle transition to electric, innovating across all our brands, and earning our position among Fortune's 100 Fastest Growing Companies.What you'll do:JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:• Repair and maintain plant machinery and equipment such as welders, pneumatic hand tools, electric hand tools, pumps, motors, compressors, etcetera• Repair or replace control devices such as switches, sensors, button controllers, valves, motor starters, etcetera• Perform work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments• Document repair reports• Fabricate and modify new and existing equipment• Participate in plant safety, health, and environmental programming• Learn and retain skills and practices needed to complete duties in assigned area• Read and follow detailed operator instructions, installation drawings, blueprints, etcetera, as required• Self-check work and inspect prior processes• Use basic hand, electric, cordless, and pneumatic tools, as required• Maintain a clean and safe work area• Initiate process improvements• Support 5S in work area• Communicate with manufacturing and other cross-functional teams (engineering, materials, purchasing, sales, etcetera) to resolve issues• Obtain and maintain a valid fork truck/stand up license - including completion of daily maintenance log and proper maintenance of equipment• Other tasks as assignedWhat you need to be successful:• HS Diploma or GED required• 4 years of experience in manufacturing and facilities maintenance• 1 year of experience with HVAC, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, and basic electrical repair-120v & 480v (consideration will be given to equivalent combinations of education and experience)• Excellent attendance• Positive attitude• Safety oriented• Strong and consistent attention to detail• Self-motivated with the ability to stay on task• Team oriented• Basic computer skills are required• Strong communication skills, verbal and written• Maintain a valid driver's license• Must have experience using mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other metal working machinery• Strong mechanical aptitude a must• Knowledge of basic assembly processes preferredAble to:o Accumulate tools and equipment required to perform assigned taskso Lift 50 pounds waist higho Embrace changeo Read and comprehend documents and prints at a high levelo Work overtime on short noticeWilling to:o Improve self / area / company (including pursuing additional training, if needed)o Develop a working knowledge of company's systems (example: AS/400, maintenance software)Why The Shyft Group?We believe that when our people thrive personally and professionally, our business thrives.
