Position Summary

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to oversee the day-to-day operations of our distribution center. The successful candidate will be responsible for facility repairs, maintenance, and ensuring that all operations adhere to company standards. The role requires estimating labor/material costs for construction repairs, liaising with external vendors, and assisting with improving the organization's environmental and operational efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities:

Facility Operations:

* Oversee and maintain the day-to-day operations of company facilities.

* Estimate labor and materials costs for construction repairs and renovations.

* Review and estimate design costs, labor, materials, and other related costs during facility planning.

* Ensure adherence to company facility standards and building codes.

Vendor & Supplier Management:

* Act as the main point of contact for outside vendors and suppliers.

* Collaborate with external vendors to support facility improvements and repairs.

* Develop and manage relationships with specialized outside contractors as needed.

Operational & Efficiency Improvements:

* Research and suggest improvements to enhance operational efficiency in terms of environmental sustainability and resource consumption.

* Review and suggest changes to operational processes that align with environmental best practices.

Maintenance & Repairs:

* Perform general maintenance and repairs, including light carpentry, basic electrical work, HVAC, and grounds maintenance.

* Arrange furniture and partition setups for internal office moves and reconfigurations.

* Assist employees with internal moves as needed.

Technical Support:

* Provide administrative or technical support in an intermediate capacity, assisting with repairs and maintenance as necessary.

* Assist with the troubleshooting and repair of mechanical equipment, including motors, bearings, shafts, sprockets, and chains.

* Work with contractors to facilitate specialized repairs or installations.

Compliance & Safety:

* Ensure compliance with building safety codes, operational safety standards, and environmental regulations.

* May assist in the development of criteria and performance specifications for facilities and equipment to meet specific operating requirements.

Technician Skill Requirements:

Master Technician level knowledge in the following areas:

* Electrical: Strong understanding of A/C, D/C, raceway/EMT wiring, basic knowledge of cabinets/field boxes, devices, and basic PLC, automation, and controls.

* Mechanical: Experience with motors, bearings, rollers, sprockets, chains, shafts, and fabrication/welding.

* Systems & Equipment: Knowledge of specialized systems or equipment within the facility.

* Contractor Management: Ability to work effectively with contractors for repairs or specialized tasks.

* Plumbing experience-: experience with minor plumbing issues preferred.

Skills & Experience:

* Works semi-routinely on assignments with occasional need for deviation from standard practices.

* Ability to follow established procedures on routine tasks, with guidance required only for new assignments.

* Comfortable working with moderate supervision, and able to seek advice from senior personnel in technical areas.

Education & Experience:

* Required: Electrical, Mechanical, or Maintenance Engineering Technology background.

* Preferred: BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Maintenance Engineering Technology, or related field.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $39,800.00 - $63,700.00 per year.

The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate's primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire. New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.
