Essential Job Duties
The primary purpose of the Facilities Maintenance Technician -Electrician role is to provide in-depth working knowledge and skills in electrical installation, maintenance, alteration, and repair of secondary electrical systems and equipment. This role will entail hands-on involvement in ensuring the smooth functioning and safety of electrical components within a facility.
Key Responsibilities and Duties include, but not limited to:
* Perform diagnostic assessments to identify electrical issues in boilers, fan turbines, pumps, condensate receivers, steam lines, expansion joints, strainers, and pressure-reducing stations
* Conduct troubleshooting procedures to isolate and rectify electrical malfunctions across various steam-generating equipment
* Execute repairs on electrical components of piping insulation, air compressors, and water softeners, ensuring seamless functionality
* Apply pipe fitting skills and other technical expertise as needed to maintain and optimize steam generation and control systems
* Collaborate with team members to implement preventive maintenance measures and ensure the reliability and safety of steam-related equipment
Other Responsibilities
* Must participate in quarterly on-call program, carrying a pager for one week at a time. This occurs every ten to fourteen weeks.
* Must be able to work overtime and/or alternate shifts when necessary for emergencies and unforeseen circumstances.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Experience/Education
High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work. Some positions may require special licenses or certification(s).
Optional Guidelines: Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the area of assignment may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
Other Required Qualifications
* Demonstrate, through work a depth of knowledge and skills for electrical installation, maintenance, alteration, and repair of secondary electrical systems (voltage 550v and below) and equipment.
* Experience in the trades area of electrical.
* Must be able to communicate effectively verbally with supervisors and the general public and understand verbal and written instructions and other communications regarding work assignments and other matters.
* Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications
* Knowledge of DDC Controls and associated control panels.
* Knowledge of low voltage systems.
* Knowledge of grounding systems.

* Valid Driver's License required.
* NC Driver's License required within 60 days of hire.
