OverviewThe Maintenance Technician I installs, maintains, and repairs production and manufacturing equipment. Inspects equipment for proper functioning and performs preventative maintenance duties per manufacturer's specifications.QualificationsEducation/Experience:* High school diploma or GED equivalent required.* One year certificate from college or technical school; or one year related experience and/or training in manufacturing equipment maintenance and repair; or equivalent combination of continued education and experience.Other Functions:* Ability to read, write, perform basic mathematical calculations, and accurately record data required.* Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts, as required.* Must be able to frequently stand, walk, kneel, reach, climb, pull, and bend with full range of body motion.* Must be able to frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.* Must be able to work independently and/or on a team in a fast-paced environment.* Strong analytical skills and systematic approach to troubleshooting and problem solving is required.* Preferred but not required:* Experience with basic electrical systems (e.g., starters, fuses, contacts, relays).* Experience with conveyors (air cylinders, diverters, sensors, motor/speed controls).* Experience with electrical systems (installation, frequency drive, troubleshooting)* Experience with electronics (e.g., level probes, flow meters, drives/VFDs, etc.).* Experience with gearing and gear boxes (rebuilds, ordering parts, machining parts).* Experience with hydraulic systems (high pressure cylinders, pumps, valves, troubleshooting).* Experience with kinematics (e.g., line speed/sprocket size ratios, etc.).* Review rating instructions.* Experience with packaging/high speed production (e.g., bottling, consumer products, etc.).* Experience with pneumatics (solenoids, cylinders, motor brakes, reading, troubleshooting).* Experience with pneumatics/air compression (e.g., valves, cylinders, etc.).* Experience with preventative maintenance (computerized preventative charts/data).* Experience with pumps (e.g., troubleshooting, replacing seals/motors, understanding specs).Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:* PLC, HVAC, Ammonia, Refrigeration, or other specialty certifications preferred but not required.Working Conditions:* Must be able to work in hot and cold climates, both indoors and outdoors.Language Skills:* English is the primary language skill; however, bilingual skills may be beneficial based on business necessity.Responsibilities* Perform BASIC preventative maintenance inspection and service on all production and manufacturing equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company guidelines.* Perform BASIC troubleshooting, diagnosis, repair, and maintain equipment to the desired company performance standards.* Interface, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electronic computerized systems and equipment* Utilizing continuous improvement mindset, assist in identifying opportunities to improve processes.* Comply with all company work and safety rules and regulatory compliance rules and regulations.* Use all personal protective equipment in compliance with OSHA regulations.* Possess the necessary personal tools to perform duties.
